I think sony will go the route with break apart controllers.

somthing like this V

BTW, wasnt there a rumor of a breakaway sixaxis?

Yeah but it was super ugly. I think it was like two giant balls or something. A control like this wone would be widely accepted.

Yeah lets do away with controllers forever. I mean who wants to move Snake around with a joystick when you can walk in place to move him?

The traditional controller will never die. Motion controls are the hot item this gen, but traditional controllers are one thing that will never die.

When the world is destroyed all that will be left are cockroaches, crabgrass and a Dualshock controller.

Its all Nintendo's fault, imo.

If that happens, I can safely say that I will stop gaming forever.

A lot of people don't seem to understand that Nintendo has it all covered for some reason, that's smart business right there.

not to mention they can easily make games that use

they don't have both in one.
To play both types of games you need to buy (at most) 3 peripherals.

Wiimote
numchuck
WM+
Dpad

you are forgetting that a wiimote and chuck comes with the Wii itself, you can get a refurb wiimote at consumer depot for 15 bucks or a new one at 20 bucks(and fish out cheap chucks somewhere too,) you don't always need extra stuff to play multiplayer games. gamecube pads are like, 10 bucks per, lol. not very costly if you know what you are doing =).

LOL that should be in your signature

Funny that right after I made this thread, there's news /rumors of the next Xbox console, likely to focus on Natal tech. Now if I could only predict lotto numbers...
