The PS3 is at least Double a 360's price. Even if this IS the slow period of the year, the 360 should be outselling PS3 by close to double at all times.....but its not. PS3 is struggling in a deminishing economy yet some how keeps holding it's own. MS has put out more exclusive...content(not so much as games, GTA LatD is not a GAME) this year which they are touting to be the next big things.

I do agree that the biggest differences will come in the fall, where the biggest games of the year will be as well as rumoured PS3 price drop(maybe MS?).

That logic is so bass-ackwards. You assume all consumers have similar disposable income, for one. Do Kia Rios outsell Honda Accords by double? Are they expected to in order to be successful? Of course not. And, as so many cows like to point out (I'm sure I'd find it in your post history somewhere), the 360 has added costs for LIVE, Wi-Fi, etc. that the PS3 doesn't. So every 360 Arcade purchase most likely ends up costing the consumer 250-300$ or so. That's not close to 1/2 the price of a PS3.

This isn't Gamespot so chilax with the trolling. Otherwise I'd be able to call you any farm animal i wanted- like a pig for example.

Yeah.. that's pretty obvious are Steroid. He should go and work for Sony. They love PR spin. In any case, Only the XBox 360 Arcade is 1/2 the PS3 and it's not the most popular system. If you followed the XBox 360 history you would see that XBox 360's sell really slow during the summer. It doesn't kick into high gear until October and that's when you'll see it outselling PS3 2:1 or close to it. That may not happen this year though if Sony final does a price cut. Still M$ might do the same thing. I could use a $350 Elite. It's going to take a long time for Sony to catch the XBox 360, even if it does start to catch up. In a couple of years the XBox 360 is going to be $200 for a Pro with 120GB and the Arcade will be $99. I don't see the PS3 getting under $200 for at least 2-3yrs from now.

Both companies sells suck. thats the bottom line. but M$ pricing is much lower and sales suck more for them as the price is lower then the wii world wide.

It's not only provoked by you, but by the staggering amount of people that share this belief that people are stupid and have bad taste. It is a lash out at anyone and everyone that subscribes to this, in my mind rather ridiculous, point of view.

I have proof too, the price elasticity for the first price cut was only -1.08 and that was when elasticity was likely to be higher due to the PS3 being outside of the acceptable price range. From here on out elasticity with drop so therefore we could expect PS3 sales to only rise less than 25% after a 25% price cut ($299) in the long term. Thats barely enough for the system to sell more than the Xbox 360 and definately not enough to outsell them in America this holiday season. What this means is that Sony will get less hardware revenue overall every time they drop the price from here on out.

Come on, you can do better than that. It's not about what will actually happen when the price is cut, it's about what people like ForeverCloud think will happen and why. I'm talking about attitudes and assumptions, what these predictions are based on and how all of this again and again fails to provide accurate results. If you take a look at my post from that point of view you will understand why your reply is misguided.
