Recently I came across an excellent TV show called Life on Mars. Being a pretty big TV junky I was totally hooked on this show.  However the show was cancelled and, well let's be realistic, most good TV good shows end up being cancelled cuz the masses are retarded and they rather watch season 59 of America Idol which will not bring anything that hasn't been done in the past 58 seasons. 

Anyway, rant aside, I was wondering if you fellas could give me some good tv shows from the UK that are either still on or have been cancelled that excelled just like Life on Mars. Just so you get a feeling for what kinda shows I like I will list some of my all time faves so you get the idea for my taste (and hoping you have seen them) and point me in the right direction.

If you like life on mars watch ashes to ashes... it's the same show just ten years later from what I have heard.

Ashes to Ashes is made by the same people as Life on Mars.

If you like UK comedy, try out The Office, Peep Show and Green Wing.

And to the other poster, I'm not really too much into UK Comedies, its pretty hard to follow specially cuz english is my second language. I mean I speak fluent american english but UK english is hard to follow, so was Life on Mars somewhat. Any other suggestions? I like dark comedies like Rescue me
