Forums - Nintendo - Move over WiiPlay - here comes BBAPlay?

Ok - the headline is slightly wrong :)

But it seems Australia is getting a new Wiimote bundle - one that is a heap better value than the WiiPlay bundle.

Big Brain Academy ($80AU) + Wiimote ($70AU) --> $80 (BBA + Wiimote)

I think this is such an awesome deal - that I'll almost certainly be getting it (we have a friend in Singapore with BBA, who has wanted to trade scores for a while). A third remote (even though we have 4 in the house) won't go astray either.

(the brain training games are getting some serious advertising space here, and also featuring during ads for a new TV show - "Are you smarter than a 5th grader" - I suspect Ninty will try and ride this to drive sales of BBA. It really should be a budget title IMO...)

Nintendo Australia Announce Big Brain Academy Bundle Deal

Nintendo know all kinds of people are crazy for the brain games. Old folks, older ladies, people that go to the kinds of parties where you play Donkey Konga all night...they can't get enough of it. No doubt seeing a chance for a bundle deal and the subsequent extra cash they can make off these folks, Nintendo Australia have announced a Big Brain Academy bundle deal, where you can get a Wii Remote and a copy of Big Brain Academy on the Wii for AUD$80. Considering Wii Remotes are AUD$70 on their own, you're saving yourself some cash right there.

Strongly considering getting this, I have 3 wiimotes, and was thinking about checking this game out anyways.. i'll probably give it a miss though due to the many other games coming out in november

Wow this could do very well. I wonder if they will expand it to other territories if it does as well as I think it will (and it will).

To Each Man, Responsibility

much, much, much better than WiiPlay.

why didn't nintendo think of this earlier? WiiPlay is a waste of... 10 bucks.

funny--how it'll be the wiimote selling BBA rather than the other way around.

the Wii is an epidemic.

BBA was the game many people were calling "Nintendo's attempt to see if they can get away with selling a $20 game for $50", right? It should sell decently now that it's bundled for practically free.

Around the Network

If I bought BBA for even $40, I would probably get roasted by my partner for "wasting money".

But buying BBA + Wiimote for $80 would be ok, as it would allow another person to join in 3-4 player games.

(just getting worried Ninty will release an "updated Wiimote" next year - and we'll have to do the buying all over again)

hopefully it sells well, and Nintendo learns that price is an important factor in selling games.

Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!

This deal could tempt me if it ever made it here to Soviet Canuckistan.

I hope it comes to Europe. Wii Play cost me 1€ (You got to love amazon sometimes) but basically it was still a waste of money. I want another Wii Remote and getting BBA for maybe 10€ with it, a definite buy.

Too bad I already have 4 wiimotes :(
