So I just started Yakuza Monday and I am about 12 hours into it. Its a really nice mix of RPG and 3D beat em up, mxed up into one nice package. I think to myself that this game would really translate to a MMO style game. Now Yakuza doesnt need to be the franchise, but the 3d beat em up RPG could be the foundation. I see:
Having several different gangs (ala WOW's different races), big cities/territories that each group controls.
Have different classes that can have their specialties(hand to hand, swords, grappling, ect)
Have Lots of weapons and martial arts styles all of which can be trained and refined to get better attacks.
Have lots of ways to make(legal and illegal jobs) and spend money(weapons, training, clothes/armor, *ahem* massages).
Expand on the ways you can allocate your experience points rather than the 3 given in Yakuza 1.
Have the ability to make parties to raid enemy gang HQ's and the sort.
Theres probably a lot more I can think up.......but would anyone play this? Im not sure if the bandwith is there to have a lot of 1 on 1 player vs player matches as the online fighting in most fighters leaves a lot to be desired. I dont like games like WOW, but I can definitely see myself playing this. So am I the only one who thinks this is a good idea?
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
