BTW, let's be clear... I *think* that when most people talk/think about "Pac-Man" they really mean "Ms. Pac-Man," the one with the fruit and the cut scenes.
Maybe not the people here--pretty savvy bunch--but in general.
And about that, I think it's still a fun experience, but it's been many years. You know, but I think part of the appeal (and I can't really explain it) came from the joystick and sacrificing quarters at the arcade, trying to make the lives last, etc. I have a feeling that a lot of those older arcade classics depend a lot on the actual arcade environments of their time, and wouldn't be as fun with a d pad or keyboard, where you can just endlessly restart the game w/ no loss of money.
What's Centipede w/o the track ball? Tapper with out the tap? :)
