Nintendo:

No one

0 points for Nintendo

And no Miyamoto even (he's as big a celebrity as some of the other guys so - 2 points for Nintendo.

Wow.  You're going to subtract points for not having someone?  That's cruel.

Seems fair enough.  In any event Nintendo would still be last with nil points so doesn't make much difference.  Unless you are tallying up points for a number of E3s but given that Wii Music scored them minus 5 billion points last year it will take them a million years to make up the deficit.

Well.  If you're subtracting 5 billion points for Wii Music, wouldn't you have to give a negative 2 billion for the Wii Vitality Sensor?

Unless they can get Oprah there next year.

You win E3 by counting the fanboy threads on the whole World Wide Web with titles like "Microsoft won E3,""Sony wins E3," and "Nintendo dominated E3". The company with the most wins.

So who won then according to your theory?  I haven't counted them all.

Apple's iPod of course.

@ Rol I have looked at what you have typed up and upon careful reflection have agree with what you have said about Mr. Spielberg for the most part. Still I think that his presence breaks the tie because he released an Indiana Jones movie. It wasn't a good one, but it was worth at least a half a point.

In all seriousness, you're on the right track, sadly enough. The show was won by... putting on a good show. I mean, if you grade it by new content, Sony had more. If you grade it by business viability, Nintendo was superior, but the internet consensus goes to the one with the best "show," Microsoft.

This seems to be the winning formula, since it focuses on the more important criteria.

Okay, maybe you are right. But then again even I forgot to factor in the sequel of Boom Blox. A bad game is one thing, but two bad games are unacceptable. That's another minus point. So Steven Spielberg is worth one and a half minus points by my calculations. I think that sounds about right.

Okay.  Perhaps this is true.  According to my calculations Microsoft would still have a slight lead if another point was subtracted because of the Boom Blox sequel.

There's a Boom Blox sequel?  This is the first that I've heard of it

For some reason I always thought that the winner of E3 either had to present a huge load of games back to back as the conference was going on or news in general to keep the show from being boring.

I for one saw Microsoft show entertaining not one time did I yawn or took a break & came back to finish watching. However I did do that with Sony and Nintendo shows. Sony just kept proving and demostrating sales figures while Microsoft ignore sales figures and focused on content and so did Nintendo by the way.

All in all, I do see your point it seems that celebrities did play a huge part this E3. I mean the Beatles were what set Microsoft introduction to E3, sparkling and successful.
