Forums - Sony - Patcher: Sony is 'ripping off' consumers with PSP Go

This guy's preschool, nursery rhyme style of analytical thinking is almost laughable. Its like saying: OMG McDonalds is coming out with a large size fry and they are charging $1.79 but they also sell medium fries for $1.39, they are obviously ripping off consumers because you can buy $1.39 fries and its profitable for them but the features of the $1.79 fries do not justify its price. This guy can do better.

People will buy it for the price because of they understand the purpose and the convenience of the device Hell I was surprised at the people around me that were asking me if they should wait and get it instead of the 3000. Sony knows what they are doing they are not stupid but they know we are and they know that we will buy it for that price.

@bonker

no PS3 was sold at a LOSS

PSP GO! will be sold at a GREATER Profit than PSP 3000

there's a HUUUUUUUUUGE difference!
_______________

PSP GO! is a really bad move, it costs £250 here.....lol

If PS3 price drop rumors are true, then the PS3 will cost less than a PSP GO!

The PS3 was kinda justify.

I was talking about their other stuff.  Such as TV, Laptop, Steroes and Cell Phones.

Samsung TV>>>Sony TV

Sony TV cost >>>Samsunt TV

soooooooooo true

i am so glad i got the samsung!

lg owns all..

Sony tv's are better quality than most samsung tv's, I have a sharp, two samsungs, and one sony KDL 40 inch in my room, which do you think is my gaming hub =D

Oh geez, I just noticed it's 250 pounds in UK. That's gonna go well with the DSi at £150, the PSP 3000 at £140 and the PS3 at £300.

Now that's a rip-off.

Well, I usually don't agree with him, but I do agree that the price is too high. $80 more for a system that doesn't have many extra features is different from spending $0.40 on some extra fries. I could understand if it was priced more closely to the 3k ($200 wouldn't even be as bad), but $80 more is rather excessive.

maybe there is a bit more to it...lets wait and see.

I wonder if Patcher understands that PSP Go costs MORE than PSP-3000 to make -- sure its not $80 more and ill agree that SONY would of aimed for $199 - $229 price point but 16gb of flash memory is expensive.

Ofcourse from what i can see SONY wants to use the PSP Go to gain a sudden surge in profits, retailers probably want a larger cut as well since its digital distribution based...

Finally i wouldn't be surprised to see SONY drop the price of PSP-3000 by $10 and PSP Go by $30 early next next year in order to maintain PSP's momentum.

Michael Pachter and the Quest for Significance. Now that is an IMAGINE title I would be interested in seeing. Anyhow know why he keeps popping up and is quoted?

250 pounds? I heard rumours that it will be 219 pounds and some that it will be 180 pounds. If i were you id wait until friday when SCEE's PS blog answers a bunch of questions about the PSP Go (alot of people were asking about pricing in UK/Mainland Europe/ Australia / etc)

Isn't PSP Go got smaller screen 3.8" vs 4.3". Added 16 GB flash memory and blue-tooth, but also removed UMD drive, USB slot, Memory Stick Duo slot.
