All I heard was "Rarara I'm tooo lazy and don't even want to TRY to make a good game on the platform. Waaaah."

I am pretty sure the reason why they are not developping games on the PS3 is more than just because it's complicated...
They can't expect people to believe that in 2009.

It's really not that hard to believe for most with the exception of a few very vocal Sony "loyalist"

What? I think you are avoiding the subject. I looked at your previous posts and it seems you have a problem with PS3 owners anyway. So you really think the reason why Vavle is not developping games for the PS3 is because it's «too complicated»...

How am I avoiding the subject? LOL Have you read my posts pertaining to the issue? Your conclusions is supported by what?

This company is basically saying the PS3 is not a viable platform for its products because of the complicated architecture and you are doubting that based on what? Sony even insists it intentionally made the PS3 architecture difficult. Are you a Valve employee?

What grounds do you have to discredit somethig being stated by Valve? Who are you again?

And I have no problem with PS3 owners. Maybe you should do more research.

Companies want to make a profit. For Valve, complicated = more expenses. Valve does not want to deal with it...get over it.

That's why they are lazy...

You admit they are lazy right? (based on what they said in the article)

So because Valve does not want to take on extra expenses to produce products for the PS3 that tranlates to lazy? Please explain how and where did you get that idea based on what I communicated?

I am not sure what you tried to do just now, but I am very well aware of what I intend to communicate. Valve does not want to deal with the increased cost of developing for the PS3. Please, either formulate a better argument or read a book...

Toodles

Accually.

You know why they are lazy, because they are basically refusing to try something new because it's too hard for them. It is laziness, I doubt they have even TRIED to develop on it. Lazy developers in my opinion.

LOL Right, so you want them to TRY to develop a game for the PS3's architecture at an additional cost? Just to appease your agenda?

If resources were unlimited and money was not an issue, I am sure Valve could churn out a PS3 game just like any other developer, but it does not fit Valve's current business model apparently...It's not worthwhile financially for Valve to produce games for the PS3

Why release a game for a more complicated architecture that will ultimately cost more if you do not foresee a benefit?! What logical person or entity would do that?!

Business and money are real world concepts. It's a very serious thing. Serious companies are not going to go out on a limb and create something unless they expect a certain return on investment.

What Valve is communicating is that it does not want to risk the resources to produce a PS3 game, because it believes it will not be satisfied with the financial results.

I STRONGLY urge you to take a class on economics, finance and accounting. These concepts are really not hard to grasp.

Using your logic, I can state that you are lazy because you won't read a book or take a class on business

I'm not a fanboy, I just try to tip the balance in favor of logic and common sense.

I seriously don't see why this is such a big deal. It's Valve, they make great PC games, most of you own a pc, who cares if they don't make PS3 games, they never did anyway. I'll buy the PC version.

Maybe the PS3 fans are too lazy to build their own computers? I mean building your own computer next to the effort of developing on the PS3 is quite simple. Its like playing lego really, only if you screw up badly it'll cost you a hundred dollars or so. They don't because they are too lazy!!! OMG theres the lazy word again. PS3 fans complaining about Valve are LAZY, and for that Valve finds them lazy for finding them lazy. So since you have a pot calling a pot a pot but only one pot cares to admit lazyness, then wow lets help the other pot discover its true identity.

Tease.

You know, this reminds me about that PS3 quote (I forget who specifically) when they said that they made the PS3 difficult to program--intentionally--so that late gen games would show improvements over early games.

Maybe that strategy has a flaw or two.

You know they would make profit by releasing there games on the PS3, right? It makes you wonder why a company doesn't want more money.

I do not know anything pertaining to circumstances that have not passed yet. Lots of factors and variables go into producing a forecast model that analyzes the risk assessment of taking on new projects. I do not work at Valve, and there is no way for me to answer your question. Just as you do not work at Valve, so there is no way for you to know the answer to that question.

Business models are not as black and white as you seem to imply. What I can tell you is that whatever analysis Valve has done, it has determined that creating games for the PS3 platform is not viable financially. Valve does not want to take on the risk. It's really that simple.

I'm not a fanboy, I just try to tip the balance in favor of logic and common sense.

blame sony not valve. They are not the only company to say so.

Edit: the reason why they keep saying this is because sony fans keep whining.  You don't need a $1000 PC to play this game.

It's funny when fans of a money-losing company bash a profitable company for being crap and lazy.
