And you think Infamous is gonna stop @ 1m??? the game hasn't even hit platinum yet or have any bundles so what are you bitchin about 1m dissapointing? Let me guess....after Infamous hits 1.5m it's also disappointing cause you think they spent like 999gazilion advert budget or sumthing.

Hmmm... you're putting words in my mouth.

I don't know why you guys are getting so angry. Does it bother you I'm not impressed with the sales? I don't think 1m for a game of this caliber is cause for celebration. Especially considering the amount of time its taking to get there.

New IP bro... they are not expecting Uncharted 2 first week sales. Was Uncharted 1 a failure because it didnt sell 800,000 in its first week?... No. Just chill bro, i know you can speculate all you want but inFAMOUS was a new IP and Im pretty sure it wont stop selling at 1 million.... Given the fact that it is a new IP, im pretty sure they are stoked that inFAMOUS is on its was to Platinum.

Good to see this game proved some people wrong. I don't understand why people didn't think this was going to hit a million...blind fanboyism?

@Boneitis

It probably doesn't bother anyone that you're not impressed with the sales of Infamous. People just don't agree with your statement that the game "assumingly" had an advertising budget of 10-20 million. I mean, you say you base that "assumption" on trends, but in reality it's based on nothing, it's nothing more than an UNeducated guess. That still doesn't mean that you're not allowed to make that statement, but just don't be surprised if anyone disagrees.

By the way, Infamous will reach 1 million sales in 4 to 5 weeks, according to VGC. The game is still selling 10.000+ a week, the holiday season is around the corner and a platinum/the greatest hits version isn't even out yet, so don't be surprised if the game will reach, or even exceed, 1.5m. It's up to you if that still dissapoints you. I think those sales are not great, but still good, especially since it's a new IP.

It's sold a lot slower than I originally thought, but it will certainly have some legs and will continue for a while yet, especially if the rumoured sequel is being worked on, as well as the rumoured movie.

Don't forget that here in the UK the game is still full price and unlike other titles that have been on the market for 6 months, that is very unusual...it's only the COD's that retain that kind of pricing structure.

I never managed to pick it up and will do once it hits a £20 barrier.

Prediction (June 12th 2017)

Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.

PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)

PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

I really enjoyed this game, it was definitely my favourite PS3 exclusive uptil the time of it's release (Uncharted 2 may take that, I'm playing through it right now), it deserves every sale it gets.

Hopefully a sequel is in the works, this game deserves it (and the ending is really intriguing, it's alongside Mass Effect as the only 2 games this generation that makes me want a sequel badly just because of the story).

Yeah, no way Sony would spend that much on advertising. I mean they have absolutely no history of spending tons of money on advertising in a short period of time.

You're not seriously using the recent PS3 campaign as an example to prove that your statement of 10-20 million is an educated guess, are you? I mean, the example you just gave me is about a campaign for a price drop of 100 euro/dollar, a new and smaller PS3 console and a relaunch of the PS3 in general with even a new PS3 logo and a new boxart design for PS3 games. Yes, they spent, and are still spending, a lot of money on that.

But i'm just curious, how did you translate that into a 10-20 million advertising budget for Infamous, a new IP game? I'm not saying you're 10-20 million "UNeducated guess" is wrong, cause i honestly don't know. I'm just saying that it seems to me, and clearly to some of the other members as well, that it's just that, an UNeducated guess. If you could show me some figures of advertising budgets of other Sony published games, than maybe, just maybe, i would believe you that your "assumption" is based on "trends".

so I was right, excellent

it should blow past 1 million by the end of the holidays!
