New Dashboard-update coming in August. Here is the new stuff, that will probably be in it:

  • Games on Demand for the first 30 classic titles like Mass Effect, Oblivion, Assassins Creed
  • 1080p instant download
  • Zune marketplace
  • Avatar marketplace
  • Twitter / Facebook
  • Last.FM

I am looking forward to this. Xbox Live is getting better and better.

1080p instant download, huh?  MS has been to the future and brought back the ability to instantly download 1080p videos and games.  This is amazing...MS hasn't just won the console war, they've won the future.

The moment this goes live, Bill Gates will be appointed Supreme Emperor of the planet Earth.

Have doubts huh?  I think everyone does.  It will be instant for everyone, but I am sure the quality will be based on internet connection.  1080p will most likely only stream for the best of the best.  Netflix HD streams quite quickly and error free for me, but it isn't 1080p, so we shall see.

Fine print probably says that they are streaming it to you instantly...what your internet connection is doing to recieve it instantly is not their concern. If they can somehow do 1080p fora 1 Mbit connection the service will rock. If you need 3-5 Mbits like usual, then it will suck for some people.

A lot of people in Canada have High speed internet "lite" which taps out at around 1.5 Mbits.

half of those things are ways microsoft is going to take your money though :-/

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... LOL.  You are correct.  Probably the only way I will use the Avatar Marketplace is if I win points in 1 vs 100 or if they have free stuff that unlock via gamerscore or game achievements.

Also there's rumors of the Xbox 360 adding Hulu to their catalog later on.

He should not have called it an instant "download" as it is a stream, not a download.

However, this is 1080p with 5.1 surround streamed instantly with only like a second or 2 of loading.  It does require an 8mb/s internet connection minimum for 1080p, though.  Which really is quite common these days but there are still many many people with DSL that won't have fast enough internet to support this.  Still a good option for millions of people who do have fast internet.  If the pricing is better on this, or if it is incorporated into Netflix at some time, this will be great!

Here I was thinking we would have to wait until the Fall.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

what will all these new added features cost us? or will some or all be free?

And also Sky TV for UK owners - thats a really awesome addition for Sky subscribers, especially as this is when the next Prem League season starts back.

I so love this feature. I wish it was released in America where we could watch live NFL/NBA/MLB games.
