Okay, maybe this is just me, but wasn't the gamecube more expensive than the PS2 for most of it's lifespan? So, basically, if things follow, gamers are going to shift from the more expensive, more powerful box (the PS3 or Gamecube) to the less powerful, cheaper, and more mainstream accessible box (the Wii or PS2). So, basically, he's claiming "PS3 is doomed!".

Well... Microsoft said something similar during the first years of this console generation. Time for Sony to give it a shot? o_O

Hey, I upgraded from a Wii to the 360 to the PS3, so it's all possible!

Though my upgrade was more or less me wanting to buy a new system because I was bored.

Who hired this idiot? I think this is one of the problems at Sony atm, they are making crazy predictions, still acting arrogant and making similar mistakes to the high ps3 price point (250 for go?). I think Stringer may be a good exec (we will have to see if he is with results in the next 5 years or so), but it seems there is still a lot of reorganization and sorting out the chaff that is still needed.

Wow what an idiont SONY PR has been horrible this gen it really has anyone in their right mind should agree with this statement. And as far as upgrading its nt gonna happen most people who bought a Wii dont and never will care about the PS3 (and to less of an extent the xbox 360) regardless of price

I'll probably get a PS3 when it's cheaper but it's definetly nothing I consider an "upgrade". More of an "add-on".

Hmm, he is kinda reading my mind. I have a Wii and am planing to buy a PS3 sometime in the near future, probably after I wrap things up with school.

N64 does not equal Wii.

I'm sure the small population of hardcore gamers either already have a PS360 alongside the Wii, or will do so in the future. But the meat of the Wii audience is a little different from the N64 audience.

The PS2 was able to capitalize on a headstart among other things, the current situation is very different.
