It's undoubtably coming with the 120GB PS3 slims currently in production. Sony needs to dry up stock and clear the shelves of the 65nm 80GB PS3s first though. By September you should have your PS3 and it might even be $100 cheaper to boot.

Sigh, September is when my classes start again. Guess I'm going to wait till next summer to upgrade.

It's coming whenever Sony manages to dry up stock. It could be as early as August, but I'm leaning more toward September.
The heat reduction will probably be negligable. Its essentially diminishing returns unless they spend the money to redesign the internals of the chip.
Tease.
It's not like they must make new SKU for it. It can quietly slip into existing 80gb console.

All systems that have different chips must have different SKUs to my knowledge. I think what you're referring is that they don't need a redesign, but it's definitely in their best interest to bring the price of the console down as much as they can without taking away more features.
Do you remember the great Jasper hunt where the only way to find what chip was inserted into your x360 was checking some not easily accesible power supply codes ?
It might be same way with Sony.

Actually Sony usually just announces it. They did the last time, Microsoft is the secretive one.
Tease.
A 45 nanometre PS3? Wouldn't you lose it? Would you be able to fit discs inside? Somebody might step on it.
