I honestly feel like these "price cut rumors" with zero backing from Sony are yellow journalism aimed directly at hindering sales and keeping people bitching about the price. I can find no other conclusion as to why these sites (that at earlier times could do nothing but deep throat the 360 and talk shit about the PS3) continue to come out and publishing false rumors about price cuts.

@ Squilliam - If the sixaxis was an 11th hour addition, then the dual analogue sticks on the PS1 were a 13th hour addition. They came out after the PS1 was released. The original PS1 controller was extremely similar to a SNES controller. It wasn't until Ninty revealed the N64 controller that they started thinking about adding sticks to it.

As for the 360 being better to program for for third parties? No, that's simply not true. A Wii game costs about half as much to make as a 360 game.

Vista only 'sucks' if you have a shitty computer like most ppl had when they switched over. In all actuality its MUCH better than XP. People were just upset they didn't get XP SP4 out of it, and instead got a whole new operating system like it was meant to be.

Oh well, this argument is mute mainly because Windows 7 soon :)

Thanks for proving my point on lack of actual knowledge or ability to use the "help" command. Spanish is an immediate upgrade that was available at the start, it was a download. Also, it's much faster than XP for me, maybe you should try again with a professional setting it up, you may not know as much as you think.

Vista came with my computer, and is still pretty slow. Other than that, I have no complaints about it.

What I was saying was that the N64 was meant to be the leading console and yet it introduced the analogue stick. They innovatd as the leader rather than as the follower.

The Xbox 360 games also sell at least twice as much on average so it does balance out.

All they need is a slim ps3 for the price drop. IMO i think it would be a big catalyst they just really need gt5 and a bundel at 299 that would be huge and hopefully grow the instal base enough that the games would a bigger attach rate and sony could more profit off of software because right now to many people bought it just for the blu ray and don't buy games. Also GT5 Needs to have a surprise september launch and beat forza that would be just epic sales would sky rocket
