Forums - Microsoft - Mass Effect 2 Demo Gameplay

Mass Effect 2 is definitely worth it. I just hope Garrus, Ashley and Wrex live. Everyone else can go. I'm not the biggest fan of Tali and Liara.

I am not so sure about the fact that weapons hit where your crosshairs are. Seems like that negates the need to increase your weapons skills.

Otherwise, this game looks bad ass. Definitely gonna pick it up.

That makes the Soldier classes a lot less desirable(actually it downright breaks the class) if other classes are able to utilize all weapons with the same degree of accuracy. On the other hand if we are starting the game with around a level 30-40(new) or 60(save game mutiple playthrough) character they ought to be pretty damed accurate with a weapon. I kinda hope the later is his meaning.

Soldiers, Vanguards and Infiltrators have always be able to hold heavy weaponry and armor. Soldiers and Vanguards are frontline attackers, while gifted biotics such as adepts and sentinels stay behind and use biotic/tech attacks. There will be more classes in the next game and as soon as I find out all of them for sure I will make another post. The weapons aren't all deadly accurate. The game will be harder than you think. The enemy AI has been raised and the bosses as Bioware is already said.

I'm just making assumptions(I know I know never assume) on what the guy giving the demo said. I hated playing the soilder class and only did so to get some of the weapon achievements. I've never been fond of the tanking/meatsheild role and I found most of the special abilities to be boring. My point is if you give the other classes the same acuracy with an assault/sniper/shotgun as soilders it makes adepts & techs OP and soilder even more boring(Again JMO). I just hope they dont break some of the roleplaying elements that are there to balance the classes to appease SOME ME fans who want to play it as a pure shooter. Thats the only POTENTIAL gripe I have so far. ME2 looks to be an amazing experience that will far outstrip its predecessor.

Accuracy isn't handed to people, including the soldier class. Your characters level of accuracy and potency has to be built from the ground up. Remember...this is an RPG...so you only start out with so much experience. Demos are not the final product. Enjoy it however you will. There will be far more choices this time around. Choose your partners around your style, customize them, their armor and yourself and you'll be fine. If you want to be able to be proficient in weaponry and not be a soldier with powers, an infiltrator is your class. : )

Poor Kaiden I dont think anyone cared when he died. Ashley, Tali, and Wrex were my faves. You liked Garrus? It was a real chore for me to get the Turain ally acheivement.

Just you wait. The devs confirmed that you will be having more crew along with you and those whom you will meet up with join you on your quest. The gameplay got an overhaul, but it doesn't mean they made it easier. The devs said it actually made it more challenging.
