Not only sales of Infamous was disappointing in the 1st week, it didn't bump sales of PS3 system such as Metal Gear Solid 4 or Killzone 2.  I think most of the blame for poor sales of the PS3 system isn't even the price.  The commercials for PS3 are awful not you don't see much of them either.  The commercials are poorly targeted.

Also, I haven't seen one commercial for Infamous on TV yet.  Where is the push for PS3 exclusive games on TV?

Any thoughts?

You haven't seen the infamous commercial?  Really?  It's on ALL the time on the channels I watch in Canada.

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

I think that the game has done pretty well for an unknown new IP on the console with the smallest install base of the big 3...

I have the game and it is fantastic, i highly expect this to have similar sales to Uncharted, that debuted with a less than stellar first week and went on to sell almost 2.4 million! This is highly possible for inFamous to copy in the long-run

Yeah it only took thier last game which was a sequel to a

popular franchise a month to reach that number of sales.

So those numbers are pretty bad aren't they.

Doesn't matter the game itself IS the best Free roaming sandbox game to date, above all else.

Quality > All.

I played the demo and I agree with you. My question is: why does it have a metacritic rating of 85. Why did it not get reviews similar to GTA4?

After playing through it twice. I wonder the same thing. Cause it's definetly that good. (better in my opinion)

How can you say Too Human isn't a quality game?

Talking about hype. Too Human wasn't as hyped as Infamous was/is. There was little to no advertisements for Too Human. M$ didn't seem to give a shit about that game. On the other hand, Infamous can be seen in movie theaters and almost every TV channel.

I meant hyped among gamers. 360 owners thought it was gonna become another column supporting the 360. Ala Halo and Gears. Also, it received alot of gaming media attention and did have heavy enough commercials. I remember seeing alot of commercials for this game. I'll give you that it wasn't as heavy as infamous but it did considerable air time.

It's not a quality game because it just isn't. The controls aren't as tight as we'd like. The story is unique and ambitious but poorly told and integrated by the game. The rpg elements are raw. I'd give this game a 7.5. What hurt it more was that it was perceived and expected to be a killer app. People were dissappointed and rated it lower than it actually was. It was close to a great IP but no cigar.

Honestly, do you believe a quality game wouldn't sell well on the 360? Especially an exclusive. A new IP on the 360, exclusive or not, if it's good, it's gonna sell. Plain and simple.

I'll just enjoy inFAMOUS. Let the haters hate and let trolls troll. It's their lost not mine.
I am confident this game will reach 1 million.

@dcIKeeL

I like Too Human better than Halo. But you are right, people were probably over critical with the game, because they thought it was supposed to be the third big franchise for the 360, along with Halo and Gears. The game was bashed even before it came out, with bad press. It had a tarnished image from the getgo. So it's kind of surprising it even sold that much.

UnCharted opened with only 133k and during the pre-Xmas sales period aswell. 190k first week for Infamous is a good start and will be another million seller game on the PS3.

Prince of Persia sold 145k first week and has only sold 790,000 lifetime
Haze sold 150k first week and has only sold 760,000 lifetime
Saints Row 2 sold 173k first week and has only sold 700,000 lifetime

Now I'm not saying that Infamous won't break 1 million sold, but Uncharted is far more of an exception than the rule and sold very well because it got a lot of good post-release buzz at the right time (holiday season) and was bundled later.

Why would you include a game with harsh reviews. Reviews hurt the legs of games like that. Just like Too Human. The first week people who want it go out and buy it then reviews come in.

Also why would you iinclude a game whos prequel didn't release on the system? If you can't see why that would hinder sales then I dont know what to tell you.

You're only legit example is PoP... let's see how infamous goes in the next few weeks before we compare (and when does infamous release in Japan because Im willing to bet it'll sell more than PoP there)
