Not only sales of Infamous was disappointing in the 1st week, it didn't bump sales of PS3 system such as Metal Gear Solid 4 or Killzone 2.  I think most of the blame for poor sales of the PS3 system isn't even the price.  The commercials for PS3 are awful not you don't see much of them either.  The commercials are poorly targeted.

Also, I haven't seen one commercial for Infamous on TV yet.  Where is the push for PS3 exclusive games on TV?

Doesn't matter the game itself IS the best Free roaming sandbox game to date, above all else.

Poor advertising is not why inFamous didn't give a hardware bump.

It's because few titles give hardware bumps; even MGS4 only had a fairly small impact.

180k isn't too shabby.

No sane person thought it was going to cause a boost in hardware sales, and the game is nowhere near as big as MGS4 or Killzone 2. The commercials were great and they played all the time on various stations. The sales aren't amazing but they're still fine.

185k is solid first week... but looking at your post history...

180k is quite good for a new ip. Not sure if this is going make them money yet, though. Im not sure how well it did in retrospect to the rediculous amount of ad time they bought, but still its a new IP.

Average prediction was 150-200 on vgchartz. So id say that's spot on. Its not a hw mover. And interesting that a 0 poster has this as his first post.

It does deserve better sales. That's for sure. The game is pure quality.
