Could this be Nintendo's September surprise .... Nah!

G4 tries to compete against Spike much more than it does video game stuff these days.

ATOS is the successor spinoff of Screen Savers from Tech TV. However, it now really appears to be targeted to a "male 18-34 demographic" (and mostly toward the lower age band of that demo).

X-Play is a rebranding of Extended Play from Tech TV. Adam Sessler has been there since the beginning. Of course, they don't show up at the Classic Gaming Expo like they once did. X-Play is the only show from Tech TV still being aired.

Incedentally, Comcast recently took over my cable system (formerally Adelphia). Three Comcast channels were on the digital. Versus and Golf have been moved to basic but G4 still sits in the land of three-digit numbers.

Forgot to add that G4 had multiple hour specials on the launch of the Xbox 360 and PS3 as well. (Nothing like that for the Wii).

Can't really fault them for the Halo 3 shows. After all, $170M in one day is a record -- for any kind of entertainment (video game, movies, Harry Potter books, etc.)

Quick turn on the sci fi channel their is a halo 3 special on.

G4 sucks more ass than I thought they did. Their big news is apparently that their big news has been delayed by "guys with briefcases". "We thought everything was gonna be cleared up by now, but we can't tell you, we'll tell you as soon as we can" Also absolutely no word on when they can actually tell anyone.

"Um…. sorry. We know we’ve been hyping a big surprise all week and there’s been a ton of speculation as to what it could be. Some thought we’d start broadcasting in 720p, while others believed it had something to do with the launch of Halo 3. Good guesses, but neither of them is correct and though we can’t tell you what the answer is, we can assure you that the announcement will be huge!

Ultimately, the delay is the result of a legal thing that we honestly thought would be worked out by now. You know how it is, the lawyers in the fancy suits with the big briefcases have to cross every T and dot every I before anybody can do anything.

Don’t worry everything’s still happening, just not today. Be patient. The surprise will be worth the wait and we’re sure it will make a lot of you very happy. Again, we’re sorry."

My guess: That Star Wars tv show that doesn't have a network......it may have a network.
