Forums - Sony - Gran Turismo 5 Collision Damage plus features

http://www.guerillaplay.com/blog/?p=2365

SONY and Polyphony Digital showed Grand Turismo 5 at the E3 2009 SONY Press Conference and it looked amazing. A lot of cool new features will be added to what I will call the full version of Grand Turismo 5.

One of the cool new feature will be the addition of the Nascar element which will make the game even better and a great feature to the game. As many gamers are used to EA’s version of the game which i don’t care for at all. This will in no way be the same, but will be on a bigger scale running along side GT5 and on the same engine. Another feature is the long awaited collision damage. Damage in GT5 is going to be huge and Polyphony Digital has finally work it out to have it in the game.

Now there’s suppose to be more features coming to GT5 like customization. Here they will have a feature to were you will be able to get on the actual web browser and go to an online store and purchase different car parts like engines, mufflers, exhaust pipes and such. And the cool thing about this is that they will be actual manufacture parts with actual specs as if you were really buying it for your own car. You’ll also be able to mix and match different parts to make you car top notch. This will be the first time we see real official car parts from real manufactures make available in GT5 for a great customization experience. These features are apparently being discussed and if these features make it into the final game then this will be huge. This will set the bar once again for other race car games and keep the GT series the best racing game franchise ever. So hopefully we’ll see this feature in the final game.

So until then, keep your fingers crossed.

Sorry if posted already.

It's not cool if I have to pay for it.

Customisation has been a part of gaming for a long time, and I don't ever recall paying more for a new turbo charger in game. So having to pay for "real" ones is a step backwards.

Also, I don't care much for Nascar at all. Hopefully Poly won't be pushing this as GT5's biggest new feature, because I'd be bitterly disappointed.

Then again, it could just be GT4 with a fresh coat of HD paint and I'd be very pleased.

I have to pay???? With MY money???? I FUCKING BOUGHT PROLOGUE DAMNIT!!

Haha wow. Never doubt PD! That's crazy.

Edit: For those of you thinking you'll have to pay real money for this stuff.. that's just stupid to think. I think it'll use virtual cash of some sort. Otherwise it's a totally wasted feature of the game.

Pretty sure this would be in-game money, otherwise prepare for the shitstorm.

nascar is ok but i am looking forward to the wrc part because i had 2 wrc tittles for ps2 and where great back then... i am a rally junkie.... as for the money thing i also think is "in game money"...

Proudest Platinums - BF: Bad Company, Killzone 2 , Battlefield 3 and GTA4

I would think really hard if they will ever charge for say $1 per mufflers :P

Come on people. In GT games you pay for stuff with "credits", you obviously wont have to buy these parts for real money, but credits.

That sounds amazing; this game has definitely forced it's way up to the top of my most wanted, right about now it is on a par with Final Fantasy XIII...

Moist with anticipation for this one :P
