While we're all here, another question. If somebody who starts a side mission accidentally dies in crossfire, will he/she come back if I kill myself, or do I have to load? It's happened to me twice, I reloaded both times.

If you wait a bit they return.  And damn, I just realised I missed the chance to call Starcraft an idiot.

Given how open the game is, so far I've been surprised how hard it is to break it - something I often try with games just to see what happens.  I've come close but never got Cole stuck on difficult geometry - although I notice that the engine seems to default to letting you clip through awkward edges vs trapping you.  A little ugly a times, but better than being stuck I guess.

I also took out all the people waiting with side quests, amused when the game actually let me.  They came back, though, without any need to re-load.

lol. I managed to break it once. By accident though. I clipped through a building after having been bombed backwards into it (the animation did this) and i fell through the model XD

Good idea - I'll try that.  I can see that working in a few places where the geometry is twisted, etc.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

The only glitches I've ever gotten in inFamous are when I'm trying to Bio Leech, and occasionally, Cole keeps leaning over, then getting back up, quickly. Looks really odd, but fixes itself after a few seconds.

Yeah - had that. The Cole boogie I think of it. Seems to happen when the geometry combination of Cole, whoever you're leeching and the ground don't mesh well.

A favourite one I saw - only once sadly - was when I hit a reaper for the final time and he did his little rolling death animation. Then after stopping for a second he did it again (complete with scream). Then, after another pause, he gave another full death animation cycle (again screaming) before coming to a final rest.

He covered so much ground doing this he ended up a fair distance away and I could only chuckle as you'd swear he was going for the Oscar for most protracted death throe.

Another odd one is when you talk to a civilian for a side mission, and they randomly start walking backwards.

And an amusing one that happened to me recently- a random woman ran into me, fell over, and died

Yeah, I've had that. It is quite amusing.

I have to say, on the topic of another game, the driving skills of your enemies in Red Faction has had me in stitches. I did a mission yesterday that was basically a big car chase. Now, I think the game's great so far, and the drivers were trying to close me down so it wasn't like the AI was totally useless, but hell, they were mowing down their buddies, leaping off tall cliffs, etc. in an amazing display of self generated mayhem that had me laughing out loud (think four cars in formation diving of a cliff together in their eagerness to get me and smashing to the ground).

Back on inFamous I do like the way enemies will occasionally just throw themselves off high buildings or leap into canals, etc. as though afraid to face you and wanting to end it all. Always makes me smile.

it was a man hole, but there was a glitch.

The echo that was meant to guide me didn;t appear. I killed myself and it came back.

Cheers

I had a bunch of stupid crap like that happen.  The worst was on the one where I was supposed to go heal the cops, I headed right over, and about half way across the street it said "Evil Karma", and all the cops started shooting me.  I was like "what the f#ck?"

I ran away so I didn't have to kill the cops, but they just continued to follow me until I killed myself.  I came back, and the cops were standing there in the street just shooting and shooting.  I quit the game and haven't played since; I've got better games to waste my time on.  My wife is so frustrated, because she likes the game and wants to talk about the story, but it's just not an interesting enough game to waste that much time on if every other mission is broken in some way.  Some glitches are funny: I had a reaper react as if I'd hit him with the "Force Push" just becuase I punched him, and when he landed he exploded, killing a bunch of civilians.  Sucked for the bad karma, but a funny WTF moment.  I knocked a reaper off a building, and he seemingly got trapped in some scaffolding, which was funny to watch until i realized it also made me "stuck" to the side of it like I was trying to cover there.  I hopped off a building down next to a civilian that had a mission for me, and he died...  not funny in and of itself, but the way he did it-- one minute standing there glowing yellow, the next he just dropped.
