Am I the only one that really loved the 1st one, disliked 2nd one and had mixed feeling about 3 (the times saved this one though, I love the colonizations, early guns and stuff like that...)

Its really sad..Since Age of empires 3 was very bad, but 1 and 2 are legendary..
I really hope we will see Age of empires 4.

I bought the limited edition of AoE3, and on one of the last pages, it had a picture with rows. They were the follow:


1 - Age of empires (acient times)
2 - Age of empires 2 (feudal times - imperial times)
3 - Age of empires 3 (imperial era - victorian era)
4 - Age of empires 4 (modern times)
5 - Age of empires 5 (future, sci fi setting)


Of course 4 & 5 were never made. If I can find a sceenie of this online, I'll link it.



And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... ^An AoE IV in the 20th century/modern age and future age would be meaningless to make so soon IMO. There's other RTS that make that well, I forgot which ones but maybe Company of heroes, C&C and Starcraft.

Age of Empires should revisit the medieval times and the ancient times before going forward in time. I wish they could do that. Sort of 3D versions of AoE I and II.

Damn I love AoE I and especially AoE II.

You make a good point, Slimebeast. I kind of like the idea of remaking AOE 1 and 2 in 3D, but Ensemble is gone. Who else could make it as good as them?

No one.

Anyway, I think you're right about the time span of AoE IV, that it will cover Civil war. But it might end with modern age.

It could start with the uprising of American Civil War (is that like 1776? I forgot) - and with the French Revolution (1789?) in a parallel European campaign

Then go through the Industrial Age, WWI, WWII and end in modern times.

you forget that AoE 1 & even II were made with much smaller studios than the ensemble that made halo wars.

They just need the core people back. I'm sure that studio that maintains halo wars could do it.

I played Age 2 and The Conquerors expansion for years. Was top 3 in DM at one time . Something about the graphics and many powdered weapons in Age 3 killed the fun. Don't see a 4 coming.

My friend was a top DM player for a while as well. Age of Empires 2 Trial DM turned him into a lethal building machine with Huns. I think he could hit 200 population in like 4-5mins flat.

What was his MSN Zone name?

Zone names! Too many to remember and I can't say which ones he used the most. His most known name I can remember was BioBob and he was in Bsk, RoR, Argo etc clans.

 

Probably more oldschool than me. I was in wB, nR, QuenDi, ect...the latter clans.

LOL! Probably man. I would pull up his rating if the site wasn't acting worse than Vgchartz.

wB and nR came during the beginning of the end =/ I think I remember the name QuenDi though. Too many hacks came out before wB and nR came out so nobody ever got props after E patch came out and even then a lot of greats from MaJor and Tech were getting busted using them in C patch. Haxorz destroy games like this. If they had monitored the game the way Blizzard monitored theirs they would still have their fan base.
