Forums - Sony - Would Square release FFVIII/IX on PSN?

Since VII came out this week I, of course purchased it. and I'm experiencing nostalgia out the ass right now.Since, I feel that the release of VII on PSN was the first thing Square has done right this gen, what's stopping them from cashing in on the others on the PSone?

My question is do any of you see Square actually releasing Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy IX in the future?

Why or why not?

If VII sells well enough there's no reason to not release VIII and IX on it.

I think VII will do very well.

The only problem I see is that...well...this is Square Enix. They have a reputation this gen for making odd decisions.

Seeing that 7 will sell a lot, i dont see why they wont release 8 + 9.

Would be some easy money made for them, plus it would get people hyped up for 13.

You can still buy Final Fantasy 8 and 9 on amazon.com so I wouldn't really see a point in them doing so. I would much rather see Vagrant Story on there, but they may release the other Final Fantasy games on psn. By the way you can buy 8 and 9 for both 12.50 at amazon right now.

I hope so, because I finally got a chance to play VII, I'm only 13 hours into it, and I'M LOVING IT!

@ rapsuperstar

I'd prefer to download them. I had a disc version of VII, but I lost it about 4 or 5 years ago.

So downloading them would make my unorganized life easier ;)

Let's just hope for the games they have put on the Japanese store to come overseas before we worry about new ones.
