If you don't understand Japanese, why would you play with subs?

This has been my question all along. To me, its the same as having our characters speak in Animal Crossing-ese...and I'm a huge JRPG fan too...

Well it can be explained that with good orginal VA in jrpg/anime you hear real emotions which authors wanted to give while VA after translation sometimes is done by guys who show as much emotions as 200 year old pine tree.

Happens in all translation to all languages .

Rainbird hit in on the nail for me. It is immersion, the entire feel of the game shifts sometimes when you introduce foreign elements into it that can totally killed the immersion, 99% of English VA were terrible but even when they were tolerable I generally prefer the original voice but sometimes the tone of the message can be convey with more accuracy than any further dubbing.

And like I said, I'm a elist purist bastard :P

If anyone has clips of the Japanese VA, could you upload them for me? I am curious what the characters in LO sound like with Japanese VA. I do not care how good or bad the voices are.
