This has been my question all along. To me, its the same as having our characters speak in Animal Crossing-ese...and I'm a huge JRPG fan too...

Rainbird hit in on the nail for me. It is immersion, the entire feel of the game shifts sometimes when you introduce foreign elements into it that can totally killed the immersion, 99% of English VA were terrible but even when they were tolerable I generally prefer the original voice but sometimes the tone of the message can be convey with more accuracy than any further dubbing.

And like I said, I'm a elist purist bastard :P

My guess was right! All those hours spent reading the forums here have taught me something
