Most people I played built decks that consisted of "the biggest creatures that I have, regardless of casting costs. So, thier decks ended up being full of craw worms, and worthless huge casting cost creatures. They would always end up a little befuddled when my deck of mainly 2/2 creatures would wipe the floor with thier deck before they could get out their first craw worm or lord of the pit. :P |
My friends run all kinds of decks (each has about 4+ decks).
I enjoyed playing against everything but the super nasty or tournament decks. For example, one person runs a Triskellion/Cowardice/Affinity deck. Cowardice returns any targetted permanent to its owner's hand. A certain arty creature gives all other artifacts affinity, and Triskellion comes into play with counters that let you ping stuff. The end result was the ability to return Triskellion to your hand for free at any time, play it for free, and deal damage to anything and everyone an infinite number of times.
Another friend runs a Squirrel deck that puts tons and tons of Squirrels in play before dropping Overrun (+3/+3/Trample to all creatures) or Kamahl (Overrun on a stick). Cute little 1/1s aren't too scary until Overrun comes and they turn into a giant little 4/4s and eat you. Not a powerful deck, but a fun one.
I like playing against the latter much more than the former for obvious reasons.
