Forums - Gaming - Kingdom Hearts 3 discussion...Assuming KH3 exhists.

Ive seen many an argument about how KH3 will be a wii game rather than a ps360 game. Many have said that KH would benifit from the wiis contols and what not and because its contols would be so different from traditional controls, it couldnt end up on another system . My question or topic of discussion is to ask the question, Now that sony has a motion controller similiar than the wii, is it possible that KH3 could end up a pswii game? (Assuming that the sony controller ends up being similiar enough to the wiis) I doubt itll be a cross platform game but I was recently thinking about it and wanted to hear some other opinions.

It'll be PS3 :)
I see no reason behind it being on the Wii, imho.

The graphical competence of the respective systems could be too costly + headache for a PSWii port. If it went to Wii, it would be exclusive. If the PS3, it would be PS3/360 multiplat. SE are lazy, so of course they wouldn't want to spend extra time and money on creating two completely different character and environment models with different polygon counts, shader, etc. This gen they seem to expect to hurt fans, make sloppy ports and re-releases, and expect to sell millions.

There's also been talk about the Wii getting it because it would appeal to it's audience (aside from core, little kids and casuals) because of Disney.

I don't think this is correct. When KH launched, PS2 wasn't the kid friendly console it is today and it still sold well and gained critical acclaim. Also, despite the look the characters, the issues addressed in the game are pretty mature (Identity being a massive one).

Also, Sony is not stupid, they know KH is a great franchise and one of the few PS2 exclusives that has wound up on the 360 yet. Now that they are starting to hit their stride software wise, I'm sure they'll do their best to keep it exclusive to PS3 or at least appear on the platform. Just look at how desperate they were to show off the Agent and FF14:Online.

So I'm hoping it goes to the PS3 (exclusive or not), so that I can play it (I have a Wii aswell, but I don't really think KH should go there, or at least not the next main one). Also, I don't want motion controls (or at least, not keyblade motion controls).

Reading this makes me think if it does go to Wii that Nintendo will release a keyblade controller like the steering wheel for Mario Kart.

The world will have died when we are forced to swing around white plastic swords for entertainment.

It makes the most sense on the Wii, IMO. Cheaper to develop for (thus, the same budget can go further). KH is a cartoony series, thus doesn't really benefit as much from the PS360 graphics. The action oriented combat also lends itself to the Wii, IMO. . That, and in Japan, the main market SE would be targeting, the Wii outnumbers the PS3+360 around 2-1.

The cartoony atmosphere does lend itself to the Wii audience. OTOH, Wii gamers, as a group, have appeared reluctant to purchase more involved titles.

That being said, I'm sure Sony would like to keep it on the PS3, and whichever system it comes out on, I'll be sure to pick it up.

I could give a shit less what console it goes for but lol at all of you saying it should go to ps3 or it is gonna be on PS3. The generation has proven Sony cant hold on to shit anymore because of the position theyre in. Its PS360 or Wii. Motion controls has nothing to do where its going.

FFXIII Multiplat
FFXIV Multiplat
Dragon Quest Wii
New MGS Multiplat
DMC Multiplat
Tekken Multiplat
etc....

I agree with this, I mean SE kept the style and gameplay for KH on the DS, the weakest tech of this generation, KH does not get it's awesomeness from graphics.  If Disney and Square go at this from a common sense angle, the install base, the demographics, and their fans went probably have at least a Wii, and that's where it should go.

But no matter where it lands I'm buying it :D
