waron why do you post things that aren't true? Where did you hear that EyePet was a PSN title?

cause it's ridiculous for game that is even inferior in content to nintendogs be a retail title. why you need BD for like 400-500MB game? you just pat some dog like creature - who would fork for something like this 60$?

No, there is in fact a game. For just a bit more details, check here: http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/04/impressions-eyepet-ps3/

waron, to be fair, we don't know that much about the game.. It's not likely going to sell a great deal but I'm sure it'll do what Sony want it to do, expand the appeal of the PS3 to a wider audience.

how about we wait until the year is over first ?

Perhaps you underestimate people's interests. There were people who thought nobody would fork over $89+ for Wii Fit. Fortunately, for the sake of forwarding the industry, Nintendo showed them that they would eat a nice serving of crow!

EyePet may not go on to sell 18mill+, like Wii Fit has, but there are people in the world, including myself, that are interested in EyePet's unique experience. I will fork over the cash because it looks interesting.

If you weren't so bent on one-sided beliefs, or bashing anything Sony related, you could try it and see what the industry has to offer, in MANY forms.

The problem with Sony is it is not a forward thinking company, it has a me too attitude and is playing catch up. What was shown at its e3 with the wand and game line up is more of the same. Basically Sony is trying to compete with Nintendo now on Nintendo's terms and it will fail miserably. Even better, when sony catches up Nintendo will be on to the next innovation while sony will be fighting everybody else for sales.

after reading those impressions i think that this should be a psn title even more or maybe sony should be adding it as a free game with camera. when psn can handle full retail titles why putting game that normally would be downloadable only on retail? i doubt it will sell more than 150k copies LTD if it will not be bundled with Eyetoy camera. it's clearly a move to gather soccer moms cause they probably will never even go to psstore, but then again if soccer mom can have wii for 250$ games for her kids and fitnass games i doubt she would chose 400$ console with probably 100$ Eyepet+eyetoy game bundle.

Microsoft only gives me Silver. I have to pay for Gold.

What does any of that have to do with this thread?

And beyond that, most of that is your opinion anyway, not factual.

I am showing you why the sony motion control and the titles it may or may not spawn will not be of any importance. And about what I said, I think it is very factual. Here is the deal:

The PS3 is a member of the old guard; upgraded graphics. They really didn't have much inovation: a psn that is like xbox live (except free), a controller with shit motion controls that was unvieled after the wii mote and totally failed, and a Hard Drive, which the xbox again had a year earlier. The wii on the other hand is a new system: it is very different from the past models. The motion controls are the real thing here, that and the lack of focus on graphics (due to the problem of rising costs). Wii sports was a brand new type of game; no one had seen anything like it before. More games began using motion control as it was the standard for the system. This was delivering new experiences to many people. Wii fit and the balance board came out next and was an innnovative hit, selling more balance boards than there were ps3s in japan. So how does Sony respond? Talking of value (after thier botched launch) and trying to puff themselves up as the "industry leader" even after their console was outsold by the balance board.  Then M+ was announced: and improvement to the wii mote. This would alow more control and freedomm, a 1:1 experience.

Fastforward to this e3 and sony comes out with the basically the same thing with a couple differences: it will come out long after m+ and the original wii mote and also has no software. So basically Sony has said "Nintendo you are right, we need to try and jump on the bandwagon by copying your product". Of course this will not take off as Nintendo has already become synonomous with motion control. That and most of the ps2 crowd has already migrated to the wii. And while Sony tries to work on motion control, Nintendo will be innovating the next idea (the vitality sensor or something else) and will make a new software no one has seen before that will sell shittons.

What innovatons has sony come out with this gen? And what people, other than sony loyalists will bother with the eyepet when Nintendogs has sold millions of copies? Sony now has no audience other than the hardcore gamers.

Ninja Gaiden 2 isnt exclusive and I wouldnt really count Banjo Tooie or Perfect Dark as exclusives.

That said I dunno what games exclusives are making it out in 09 but that list feels empty all around.
