It would be wonderfull if MS points went away completly but I dont see them giving up the revenue stream it generates. If they want this to take off they need to start selling reasonably priced larger capacity hard drives. 60 gigs is way to small to suport a digital download gaming service. They also need to impart at least the impression of Steam like reliability and by that I mean you liscence is always there and you can delete and redownload a title as many times as you want. Also if they want to be able to sell classic titles like this they need to do it at a pricepoint that is lower than its disc based version.

Live already has licensing.  Any downloadable content that is for purchase is tied to your gamertag.  It is also tied to the console that you purchased it on, but this can be moved over to any other console.

Yeah but how long will it stay available for redownload? I bought Black and now there is talk of the xbox originals being removed from live. I have a 20 gig and no longer have it on the hard drive because of space issues(20 gig). That is an issue MS needs to address and make clear to its customers.

Now they need new and bigger hard drives. But with downloaded games, you won't have to install to hard drive to make it run quieter or faster like DVD. They are already in hard drive.

1 TB hard drive anybody?

Past Avatar picture!!!

Don't forget your helmet there, Master Chief!

You can always delete games and redownload them on your console or a friend's console if you don't enough space

You can not even begin to comprehend how many games I didn't buy in my lifetime because my frugal ("frugal" means "evil", right?) girlfriend always complains. I can buy her a $60 dinner, take her to a $20 movie, spend $20 in gas, and give $100 to a hobo, all in one night. If i buy a used copy of "The Orange Box" for $15, she will bite my head off!! With this service, our relationship (built on me deceiving her) may just make it......

Since the Xbox 360 has cross game chat, this is big. Being able to jump straight into a game with a friend is something which many Xbox 360 owners would appreciate! If they offered new releases imagine being able to get the big releases at 0 hour it'd be huge. Also they'd make tons of money because someone your friends could just spam you with messages to make you buy a game to play with them. You don't have an excuse as you wouldn't have to go to a store to get the game.

PS3 fans have taught me the lesson that getting up to change discs is hard work. At least now I know that I won't have to with the Xbox 360. So now the Xbox 360 is living up to the ideals of the great PS3 fans better than the PS3!!! OMG guyz...

Tease.

An even bigger thing, in my opinion: Maybe I will have the option of gifting games for my cousin who's in college (a'la the Wii). That way, he and I can play games online without me worrying that he's going to trade them in for store credit! The guy never keeps anything for longer than a week or two.
