Forums - Microsoft - 10,000+ Against Left 4 Dead 2 (Update)

It's not a war, people (mostly PC gamers) are just disappointed in Valve and they have reason to be.

With all the mean trash talking from PC guys (although I think RTS's and WRPGs should be focused for the PC's first) I say it's a war =(

People have a reason to be pissed off at Valve?? No they don't, not even close. They got a ton of free updates for Team Fortress 2, and every other game Valve has ever made. They even got an update for L4D 1 already, and Valve has already stated there will be more L4D content. Valve also has had HUGE sales on there online PC store. Half those people probably bought TF2 for $10 or Left 4 Dead for $20, and they have a right to be pissed? Do you see anyone else doing that with their new games? Valve should be the least of these peoples worries. They can spend $500 on a graphic card, but $40 (you can always find it cheaper at launch) and you start a petition. They need to get a life, seriously

10000 vs. 2.1 million? I don't think they will worry to much

I think you'll be suprised at just how worried Valve will be if this continues. 12,000 PC people talking against them in Steam is a lot of people, and it's increasing, not slowing. This is not good PR for the company that prides itself on its good relations with the PC gaming community. I'd be surprised if this isn't addressed by Valve at some point.

No really, they don't give a fuck. Millions bought it before, and will do so again. And 99% of those 10.000 will buy the game after they got the sand out of their vagina. It's just attention seeking, that's all.

Try not insulting people because you won't last long.

Didn't you just call these petition people nerds and express your desire that they "fuck off" and "get a life". Hypocrisy, much?

Tbh, I think these people have a point. It doesn't sound like L4D2 is a huge new step. The additions imo could surely be provided by DLC instead...

Looks like Valve are finding themselves caught between (some) of their PC gamers and their increasing console success on 360.

The console model implies DLC at a cost, etc. vs the free PC model. The PC guys are perfectly within their rights to grumble (the customer always has that right) and Valve are perfectly within their rights to ignore it if they chose to.

If the majority are happy with Valve approach their games will sell fine. If they make mistakes and lose sales then they'll adjust their approach.

Neither side is 100% right/wrong.

This has nothing to do with PS3 or PS3 owners - apart from a few on forums they will be oblivious to this - an argument by PC owners against a PC/360 title and PC/360 centric developer.

I will stick to L4D on my PC and decide when I see L4D2 whether I'm interested in buying it - just like any game. I do think Valve are risking potential sales with a release so soon after the first, but if the content is good and it gets good reviews I'm sure it'll sell fine.

I don't have an issue with it at all myself, but I do understand why the real hardcore players (I'm not one myself though I do enjoy it) do and its their right to voice it as they have, in a controlled manner.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

I think Valve should be careful not to alienate the hardcore. They're the ones who help you during tough times (Gamecube, PS3, etc)

Ooh another Sony fanboy that can't tell the difference between using a phrase and directly insulting someone. And no I didn't use the word "nerd" anywhere, maybe you ought to read thoroughly before rushing to get your annoying opinion in.

Edit - The previews are glowing, and they say "calling it an expansion is not fair"

How much/many innovation/new ideas could they possibly come up with in under a year? I honestly bet this isn't even Left 4 Dead 1.5, its probably like Left 4 Dead 1.25 at best.

It'll just be a few more guns, a few new maps, and a few new enemies. They should just put out a DLC instead of a whole new game.

Seece: "I hope not. Some people just enjoy kicking up a fuss don't they? in the grand scheme of things 10k isn't a lot out of the millions it sold. Whats to say these nerds arn't creating other accounts and signing this peition multiple times?"

Your second post in this thread.

I really don't care for semantics nonsense. Whether it's a phrase or a direct insult, you were still being offensive. Cut it out.
