Looks like Valve are finding themselves caught between (some) of their PC gamers and their increasing console success on 360.
The console model implies DLC at a cost, etc. vs the free PC model. The PC guys are perfectly within their rights to grumble (the customer always has that right) and Valve are perfectly within their rights to ignore it if they chose to.
If the majority are happy with Valve approach their games will sell fine. If they make mistakes and lose sales then they'll adjust their approach.
Neither side is 100% right/wrong.
This has nothing to do with PS3 or PS3 owners - apart from a few on forums they will be oblivious to this - an argument by PC owners against a PC/360 title and PC/360 centric developer.
I will stick to L4D on my PC and decide when I see L4D2 whether I'm interested in buying it - just like any game. I do think Valve are risking potential sales with a release so soon after the first, but if the content is good and it gets good reviews I'm sure it'll sell fine.
I don't have an issue with it at all myself, but I do understand why the real hardcore players (I'm not one myself though I do enjoy it) do and its their right to voice it as they have, in a controlled manner.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
