Another failed promotional stunt, this is ridiculous.

Im getting sick of all these guys at Forza and their pathetic claims. To say that they don't have competition from probably the greatest racing series ever is arrogant, and they are going to get so much shit on their faces when GT5 launches.

By then, they will be working on Forza 4, most likely, and I'm not joking.

Getting Nascar, and selling a lot are NOT innovation. Realtime tire deformation...now that ain't bad.

How has GT since the PS2...innovated...btw?

Well duh, what else would they be doing after they finish Forza 3?

@ kn, PD have also had to make Gran Turismo PSP and they have released Prologue, which sold a nice 3.6m copies, and we don't know the size of Turn 10, PD employ 110 people

That's all well and good for the economy, but where I work, we try to work smarter and not harder. What one man can do, another can do, and with innovation in procedure, 1 man can do the work of 10. That goes for coding, or ditch digging.

Well luckily for them, when GT 5 releases it is going to sell huge numbers, and Prologue sold 3.6m, without too much extra work. GT PSP will also produce tons of money for them

Personally I think the 10turn dude and his team (if he's speaking on behalf of it) are using the same arrogant attitude of provoking a fight. Something Microsoft PR loves to do alot of the time... this is seriously one of the main reasons I have so little respect for Microsoft.

10turn's all about beating Gran Turismo to the punch on release. Many of the features in GT5 are still not disclosed as far as I know. And he goes as far as to making a bold assumption. They're obviously trying to settle on taking Gran Turismo's spot as the main sim racer to-go with as muchsandslapping and dirty tricks possible in order to achieve that. He's pretty much underestimating not only the GT brand but Polyphony as a compentent developer as well.

Oh and 800,000~1.000.000 polygons? he's speaking in rounded figures, those number right there are coming from too simple math to even determine what he means with 10x.

Man, turn10 showing very low respect for someone that apparently appreciates/d GT... I mean seriously.

Sony fans have nothing on us anymore now that Forza has surpassed their main franchise Gran Turismo.

Same here. I'm getting Forza 3 first because it actually has a release date

Okay this where the thread has met the borders of disillusional.

The reason this debate is dragging so far out is because the main 360 owners want to find a reason to justify the neglect of Gran turismo 5 now that its on 3rd place console.  And therefore added high critisism of lacking innovation. Damage granted... but anything else will make it less of a driving sim and more arcadey than anything.

Something like that is completely irrational blatantly seeking to flamebait others.

As a final note, I will just go as far to saying that Forza 3 will probably reach the half of sales of Gran Turismo 5 in its lifetime.

adios!

He could have said 3X still more polygons than GT5. But we will see when both are out. You can wait for GT5 if you want, this is Forza 3 thread.

If we are talking about realism, take a look at that video. Watch at 25 seconds, a car goes into reverse for 2 seconds without loosing any speed at all. And then at 47 seconds were a car does a 720 degree spin between two cars. I think the developers have gone for a more arcadey style compared to Forza 2.

Neutral?

And the driving in the video is team Blackjack, if you google for them you caan find FM2 videos with similar driving.

IRL, if you switch into reverse at such high speed with a production car. Your gear box is immediately trashed, let alone performing these stunts.

The only way you can do that without trashing your gear box is to lock the wheel while the spin, then switch to reverse gear while the wheel is still locked. Essentially this puts the car into 0 mph but the car is still sliding a 180 turn.

Anytime you switch into reverse while the car is moving, you're gonna heard some loud nasty GRRR noise and your gearbox is most likely trashed.

Seeing that video, with a production car at such high speed. you have to show me a real life video to tell me that is possible.

Ah yes, the old 'microsoft is arrogant" ploy. I contend that micrsoft is just confident, as is the 10 turn dude. They are comfindant and proud of what they have made. And they should be, a game that closely matches (if not surpasses) the biggest racing sim of this generation. With less money I should add. That my friends, is brag worthy.

@Leonidis, so, if polyphony just works on graphics, and doesn't try to improve game play, you are saying that is ok? Well, have fun with that, when your game gets left in the dust by a game with comparable graphics, but a better, more realistic, more cusomizable game play, don't come crying to me.

Ironman what do you mean left in the dust?

Easy, I mean that if Polyphony only works on grapics and leaves the reast of the game the same, well, pretty soon even the GT fanboys will be dissapointed and will likely stop buying GT until they improve the gameplay along with graphics. To say people buy the game just for the graphics is asinine. While there may be a few crazies that do that, I believe it's more about the overall experiance.
