Forums - PC - buying a pc very shortly: are these spec good to run crysis on highest?

No, the GTS 250 isn't enough for decent settings and resolutions. I'd recommend at least an HD4870 1GB or GTX260, both of which are similar performing.

Or if your budget can take it, an HD4890 or GTX275. Anything above that is a ripoff and won't give much more performance but will cost a lot more.

^ Exactly. He can save $100 by switching the iCore7 to a Phenom II 940, and instead using that money on a much stronger GPU like the ATI HD4870, or even a HD 4870 X2.

Core i7 really isn't necessary for gaming. Actually Phenom II can beat Core i7 on a lot of games (but Core i7 wins in CPU-heavy things like video encoding and Photoshop).

Bad GPU. You need something like GTX 285 or radeon 4890 to run cryssis well. At least don't go below GTX 260 levels.

Yeah, I'd like to know too.

Also, if you're buying Crysis just so you can say you own Crysis and a computer good enough to play it, then don't. Buy the games you want to play.

BTW you are already spending lot of cash at computer why don't you get at least X-fi gamer sound card for it ?
