Forums - Sales - EA sees 500k Motion+ bundles Golf and Tennis're serious bussinies

I need reviews to tell me which tennis game is superior already! Just today I was looking at my wiimote thinking, "This needs more gyroscope."

"The worst part about these reviews is they are [subjective]--and their scores often depend on how drunk you got the media at a Street Fighter event."  — Mona Hamilton, Capcom Senior VP of Marketing

The main thing I'm trying to get across is that this is just the early shipment. I mean unless EA is wanting to keep it a limited time deal, they can always buy more when needed. I wouldn't think Ninty would block them from buying it... that's bad for business.

Unless they're selling the Motion Plus standalone faster than they can make them. Then everyone except EA (Nintendo, distributors, retaillers) would rather sell the $20-25 contraption and $50 game seperately and make more money than on the $60 bundle. Even EA might want to sell them seperately if they are flying off the shelves and there is no competition for their games until WSR.

Eh, too much stuff involved. I think 500K is a big enough number though, that if you live in America or Western Europe, and want to buy a bundle in the first week, you've got a good chance.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.

Whats the deal with releasing TW weeks after GST? That's pretty dumb. btw, this is in PAL region.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Same situation here!

Well, the first 500K is definitely the tester. Once high demand is confirmed, more will be shipped.

I think WM+ stock will be replenished if the games sell out quickly.

EA is on a roll right now with EA Sports Active going gold (500k) in two weeks, so they have confidence going in right now when it comes to pushing software (Sports Active) that complements hardware (Balance Board).

The one called "real life"is superior. It has great motion controls support.

That´s not what he asked now is it?

I´m also very excited about the tennisgames for Wii so which one is better that´s the question. Virtua Tennis 2009 or Grand Slam Tennis?

Grand Slam Tennis looks to be the better game. They sorta shoe-horned WM+ into Virtua Tennis 2009 at the last minute. Grand Slam Tennis has a more arcadey look, but its graphics are better than VT 2009 too.
