Fair enough , we got one here my nephew never touches it . Im getting my ps3 and its all he talks about he in the end was gutted at how poor the games where for his wii . He has Zelda which is my fave game , wiiplay , wiisprts and rayman . Im just going from experience he cant find a single friend in his school of over 1000 pupils with a wii to exchange wii codes with . Maybe its just the uk i dont know whats going on at all . I think nintendo are deliberately limiting supply to keep the publicity going . Good luck to them clever move but im done with them except for Zelda lol .

Maybe your right lol but who knows i wished i had a crystal ball to see whats going on in 2009 . As for predicting this generation i bet nobody knows whats gonna happen in the end . The negative publicity i see sony getting is very similar to what happened the 6-12 months after the ps2 who knows what effect it will have .

Everyone check out ioi's link, and by the way it says that the 360 took twic as long to reach 6mil so the Wii should catch up really soon at this rate.
It is actually under 4 months (March 19 would be 4 months). I have my doubts Wii is at 6 million just yet. You are looking at 1.8 million in Japan (using Media Create), 1.75+.45+.25 (so far in March) for North America I think..Say it is 2.5 in all of the the Americas. 800,000 for Europe through December 31, 2006. 5.1 million is bare minimum. But Europe has not stopped getting shipments for 10 weeks..Throw in another 50k/week at least and you are at 5.6 million, which is almost identical to what the site had before it changed today. However, it is not inaccurate, I just think since the front page changes 1 time/7-10 days it is set up in anticipation of those sales, then adjusted as 'official' numbers come in. Nintendo said they were planning on shipping 6 million through the end of March. I do remember reading that a small increase in production began in February and a bigger one was starting in April...so I can see them beating their projection by a 300,000 to 600,000 units (40k-80k increased capacity/week x 7-8 weeks)

My friend was finally able to get one... from his pre order... Only.... he needs to wait for a week to get it actually "in hand", so hopefully there's not someone else who will grab it before him

I dont think its there yet .Frontpage numbers seem simply off .
http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=23520 "We are still struggling to deliver the right numbers of hardware to cope with demand," admitted Fischer. "We're planning to increase the production capacity but it's not something that can be done in a couple of days. We have to be patient. "We're delivering new units to market every week and everyone at Nintendo is working really hard to ensure it's harming the consumer as little as possible," he added. (key point:) With the company well on track to reach the six million sales target by the end of March, even Nintendo is surprised by the success of its new home console. "It's astonishing to think that with six million we're not able to fulfil the initial demand," Fischer said. Despite the success so far, Fischer is aware of the frustration felt by consumers still unable to buy a console that has been on the market since December. It seems he is implying that Nintendo is surprised 6 million can't meat initial demand, not that 6 million have been sold. Although I can all but guarentee they will be at 6 million within a week to ten days.
