WM+ and WiiSports Resort were unveiled last year and it comes out in a couple of weeks. This is a definite negative to the Nintendo score. Had they been brand new introductions the value would be signifigantly higher. Also as for WM+ to many in the mainstream and to many people I know they thought they already had this with the Wii.
Metroid - Yes it is different this time with Tecmo, but I was like jeez another Metroid. Yes Sony and MS have sequels to games as well, but they have had a great deal more big releases between them and didnt just announce a 3 pack of the other Metroid games for the Wii just a couple of weeks back.
SMG2 and NSMB - Similiar could have been said about SMG2 and NSMB and it does become even more so the issue with them both being Mario platformers. It doesnt help much that the SMG2 looks just like SMG and NSMB is perceived as mostly a DS port.
Wii Vitality Sensor - Not only people were like whats that for, but i was also wondering (have seen a couple articles that bring this up as well) why attached to the WiiMote. Why not a pulse monitor watch like device that wireless connects to the Wii. Why a wired attachment to the WiiMote.
Also to many (me included) Nintendo and Sony press conferences are actually 4 press conferences because of supporting both portable and console. MS spent nearly 2 nonstop hours showing content and cool stuff for just 1 console. Nintendo spent 1 hour on 2 consoles and still had time for statistics. Sony was in the middle with 1.5 hours of content spread across 2 platforms and had time for statistics.
You're joking right? Prime 3 was released in 07 and Other M will come in 2010 at the earliest. In that same gap of time Halo 3, Halo Wars, Halo 3 ODST, and Halo Reach will all happen. I don't think anyoen can pretend to be exasperated with a series that went on an 8 year haitus versus one that has only been ramping up its entries by an alarming amount.
With just announcing the pack of the GameCube Metroids and Prime 3 a couple of weeks ago and the fact that Nintendo has so many other IPs that people are almost begging for Nintendo to make it does seems like jeez another Metroid.
Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Sony's conference was good as well, but I'm not too impressed with the PSP-GO, and I was really hoping for a PS3 price cut announcement. Nintendo was pretty boring, but with a couple of nice surprises like Metroid and Golden Sun, not so much the Vitality Sensor (LOL!!!FAIL!!). And Cammy and Reggie annoys the hell out of me.
Really? I like Reggie, cammy I can understand but reggie? To me he has the most stage presence over microsoft and sony. Hes just a likable guy imo.

Nintendo shows off Wii Remote - C Nintendo shows off Wii Balance Board - C Nintendo shows off WM+ with possibly best games announcement in a long time - C
Microsoft shows their motion control Natal - A+++++++++++ Sony shows off their motion control with wand thingy - A+++++++++++
That is just crap and their scores are crap. At least try to be fair. Nintendo shows motion controls and everyone laughs and says it is stupid, but then turn around and praise the ground the competitors walk on even though they are late to the game. Even if you want to argue that there aren't many games for the balance board, we have the same exact argument for Microsoft and Sony.
In my mind E3 went like this MS=Nintendo>Sony. Mostly for the following reasons. You can take your pick on who "won" but Ninty and MS both offered a lot of new stuff for gamers. Personally I choose Ninty since I own the console
Microsoft shows off some stuff we didn't know about + new hardware that has lots of vision even if I thought it was too early to show off (lack of gamers games to show the public).
Nintendo demoed their WM+ which is coming out now, plus they announced 2 Wii Marios at the same time. People have been asking for a 2D console mario since Mario 64 came out and they finally delivered. Very solid showing overall with new software. The vitality sensor was weird, but in no way destroys the show.
Sony had only FFIV to announce and that is an MMO which generally is not liked by the FF crowd. Their motion control is also in a hugely primitive state and also has no gamers games to show off to the public. So much stuff was leaked that most of their show was a repeat of things we had already heard. Had they not leaked everything I would probably rank them a lot higher.
Not to mention the fact MS "won" last yr bcoz of a surprise announcement. This is what Nintendo do now, surprise announcements are their thing and they get little credit for it.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Oh really. And what games are Metroid and Team Ninja stopping? Star Fox, which just had an entry a few years ago? Or maybe Pikmin, even though we know another one is in the works? Or maybe Zelda, which again, has two games on the way. Oh, I know, Kirby, but wait, that's coming too. Maybe Golden Sun - wait, that was announced. Mario? Two of those coming. Punch Out? No, that just made a comeback. Sin and...nope, that was on the show floor.
What were you complaining about? Oh right, a Metroid compilation is completely ruining Nintendo's line up and a new game is not allowed to be made for at least another decade because re-releases are even more demanding.
That is my opinion and it seems that is the general consensus in the media, as well as several sites and gaming communities. You dont have to like it, regardless of console owned though, you win.....believe me.
I am extremely happy as a gamer because I enjoyed what was announced for all 3 and can easily pick and choose some very very awesome titles for each throughout the year. For my tastes the 360's line-up was top notch.
These guys display exactly how I felt about the conferences...
100% believe M$ won E3 now. M$ could have shown no games at all, just shown the best innovation ib gaming for 20 years Natal and they would still have won. M$ are on a roll, and there is nothing Sony can do.

The Natal is not innovative. It is a mild cross between the Wiimote and the Eyetoy.
Milo? I would like to introduce you to Eyedentify.....
and I am positive the Eyetoy could do what Natal does(in theory seeing as the Natal is not out yet) because of this.......
body recognition is nothing new cuz the eye did it FIRST. Now that it's on 360 all of a sudden people are interested, but the fact remains the PSEye has been able to do this sort of thing from the start. If you were paying attention to Sony's motion thing, you would see that they are using the eye toy(to register the body in 3D space) and the wands to recognize pin point precision for weapons/tools.
I don't even need to go into how Sony trumped the other two in sheer content for both PS3 AND PSP. They showed more exclusive games/content then Nintendo and MS combined.
So please tell me, how after all this, Sony did not "win"(because its not really a contest) E3?
Greatness Awaits
