Forums - General - Woo Hoo!!! Tied up baby! Oh Yeah! GO PENZ!!!

Tied the Stanley Cup series up at 2 games a piece with the Detroit Red Wings. Evgeni Malkin for Conn Smythe!!

Bringing home the cup this year baby! WOO HOO!!!!

Just wish those Wings could stay on their feet though. Seriously, how do you stand stationary behind the net and then when a stick goes between your legs you do a superman onto the ice? What is even worse, how do you call a tripping penalty on that when it was clearly a dive? Superman in the air lunging forward when you had no momentum moving forward? LOL!

I found it quite funny that near the end of the game they decided to play the song "Holy Diver".

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Detroit looks tired. If Crosby and Malkin play like this back in Detroit for game 6 I am not sure if the Wings will keep up. They look like they have no legs left, which is part of the reason why they kept losing their footing all game long. They have just looked so overpowered by the Penz the last 2 games. You can see the fatigue setting in for the aging Wings.

They play again tomorrow night and that will make 5 games in 9 nights. We are talking about a Penguins team with an average age of around 25-26 to a Detroit team with an average age of around 34-35.

It's not easy to tire out a 21 yo Crosby, 20 yo Staal, 24 yo Fleury, 23 yo Malkin, 24 year old Letang, 22 yo Kennedy and a 25 year old Talbot.

I also beleeve the Penz commited more penalties last night as well. Detroit had plenty of opportunities but they couldn't capitalize.

Good article right here about the game.

I'm kind of dissapointed. When I read tied up, I thought this would be something sexual.

We'll miss you George.

Detroit is going to win at home Saturday and take the 3-2 lead and get the momentum back. Then they will win the cup in Pittsburgh in game 6.

No way! Detroit looked dead in that 3rd period. There was obvious fatigue there, something you did not see when it came to the Penz. They were held without a goal for almost 40 minutes, they couldn't stay on their feet and up until last night Crosby looked almost non-existant. When everything is clicking for Pittsburgh they are quite possibly the best team on the ice. Only advantage Detroit has at the Joe Louis Arena is trampolines for boards that many other teams are not accustomed to. Once that was taken away the Red Wings looked like a completely different team and the box scores between games 1 and 2 compared to 3 and 4 were easily noticable.

Last year they were surprised due to inexperience. Now they will not have this issue. Last year they had Hossa and this year everyone expected a quick series because Hossa was no longer there and is now on Detroit. Just you wait until Saturday night. Even with the calls heavily in favor of Detroit they are what, only 1 for 8 or 1 for 9 on the powerplay?

Just to show how much it is in favor for Detroit in terms of calls. Remember game 2 where Zetterberg was laying down inside the crease and smothered the puck with his body? According to the NHL rulebook that is an illegal play and should have resulted in a penalty shot. Same with last night when Fedotenko was hooked when going for that empty net shot. Even in game 1 they got away with the defender covering the puck with his hand inside the crease. Three blatant illegal plays that should have resulted in penalty shots completely ignored and Detroit still couldn't take advantage.

I am pretty sure games 1 and 2 were either 2-1 at the time or tied at 1-1. If those illegal plays were called and the Penz got their deserved penalty shots the momentum in those games could have been entirely different. If called properly there is the possibility this series could have already been over.

Penz in 6.

Also with a packed out arena and about 10-20,000 additional fans outside on the grass watching the game from the big screen, Pittsburgh will become the new hockey town. Move over Detroit.

Penz announcers are cooler than Detroit announcers too, so they should win just for that alone.

"Slap me silly Sidney", "How much fried chicken can you eat?" and "You can scratch my back with a hacksaw!". LOL.
