So, I was thinking, Why couldn't multiplatform game developers, set up some sort of a deal where anybody with a PS3 could play online with any of their freinds who had Wiis and 360s? Think about it, if I have a 360, and my friend has a PS3, and we want to play Call of Duty Modern Warefare 2 together, why can't we? Obviously the games are slightly different, but a simple patch would work to meld those differances. Now think of this, what if the only reason I would buy CODMW2 was so I could play my friend? Obviously I would not buy the game, but would just go over to his house. This could be a good thing for game studios. What do you think?

Ah, true, so eliminate the Wii, they don't have very many games that the other two consoles have anyhow. The difference between the PS3 and Xbox 360 would be negligible, a small sacrifice for those who wanted to play.

I don't see why the graphics difference should matter.  You'd only be exchanging data about location of the character, stats, etc.  There is no problem with someone on very high playing someone with low settings on PC.

Yes, and that is why developers should do something about the whole deal. They would sell more games.

That why the game developers should do it. Or a third party should do it and charge developers a fee for using the service. I think it would be a big hit.

can do this already with FFXI. its cross platform MMO.those ps3 owners with bc can load up the ps2 version and play alonside X360, pc and ps2.

Although you have to use SE own client patch-thing called Playonline.
