Hello! In a thread relating to VGChartz Top 100 some guy, I don't remember who, said it'd be cool if someone could gather a percentage of what consoles and developers had the most games in the list. I have done exactly that, and here you shall see the entire statistics of the VGChartz Top 100 Games list! What's that? Yes, I do in fact have way too much free time. Anyway, here it comes.

DEVELOPERS


What mainly surprised me regarding developers was how low a percentage Capcom had in the deal. For developers, I have counted developers that are owned by any of the big three into their own tally (Media Molecule is listed as "Sony", for example), but for games like Gears of War(where the IP belongs to Epic, but Microsoft published the game) they are listed for their respective developer. Here's the percentage of games each developer got into the list, and rankings of it.

1. Nintendo - 27% (This also includes Intelligent Systems, GameFreak, Hal Laboratories, Retro Studios and any game Rare made that was based off of a Nintendo IP, such as Donkey Kong Country).
2. Square-Enix - 16%
3. Sony (This also includes Media Molecule, Naughty Dog, Polyphony Digital and Team Ico), Konami, Sega - 6% each
4. Capcom - 5%
5. Blizzard Entertainment, Rare - 4% each
6. Microsoft (This also includes Bungie), Valve, BioWare, Bethesda - 3% each
7. Epic Games, Atlus, Rockstar - 2% each
8. Black Isle Studios, Microprose, Grasshopper Manufacture, 2k Games, id Software, Ensemble Studios, Namco, Ion Storm Inc., Activision, Alexey Pajitnov - 1% each


CONSOLES

Now, it's time for the console breakdown. Here, you will see how high a percentage of the games featured in the Top 100 list are available on each system, with ranking. Enjoy! (XBLA, PSN, WiiWare not counted.) Please also note that Tetris is not counted simply because of the sheer multitude of platforms it's on. I couldn't find a source for all the platforms. Sorry!

Yeah, a lot of the games are available on the PC ... Even some that are bad ports (RE4). PC is a pretty versatile platform, you know?

Honestly, after seeing gameplay and such of FF13 I think it looks great. Not the best thing since sliced bread, but definitely one of the best HD games this gen. I just hope I'm not proven wrong.

It's the worst Top100 list I've ever seen. Only one PC game in the top20.

Frankly, popular opinion is usually not right when it comes to quality.

yeah I forogt PC gets loads of multiplats. I mean we probably did count FF7 as a PC game in the countdown too.

I think its good......just maybe less "xbox-ness" in the top 20....maybe xbox & xbox 360 deserved to have more games in the top 20. PC certainly had enough in that whole list!

Actually, I didn't count FF7 as PC and neither did VGChartz list ... But pretty much every other game available on PC was counted.

Awesome work Majin, this would have taken a while to do. I'm sure Wii will have a much larger percentage if this is done in 10 years time.
