My suggestion.

DO NOT get the arcade model if you're going to buy Forza 3.

Get the hell out of here troll.  Don't you have GT5 to promote you know when it will finally have ship date.

Check around there should be good deal going on, Dell often have the $100 off deal. I know the Elite is barely moving in my area. (Some store still have the old bundle which just recently got replaced by MS rep with new bundle game Halo3 & Fable2). The newest Arcade and Pro doesn't even have bundle anymore at least not at my local store.

Most likely you will get Falcon 360 if you go with Elite. They seems to not get RROD but they are prone to E74 from what I observe.

What the hell is your problem?

I'm just suggesting if he's going to get a Xbox with Forza 3 in mind, get one with the Hard Drive.

I briefly read his post maybe I missed it if he said he won't get an arcade.

Chill man.

You do know that you can pick up Fable 2 and Halo 3 for 30.00.  So you could get a pro with halo 3 for 70.00 cheaper.  Also I have a 60 gig harddrive with a moderate amount of DLC on it and I can still hold like 6 to 7 games on my harddrive.

I'm pretty much decided on getting an Elite. I plan on installing every game I get just so I don't have to hear the disc running. As the years go by, it'll definitely start getting more crowded when I buy more games or save movies. Anything less than 120gb won't be enough in the long run.

I just have to ask why you would get rid of your PS3 now especially when you're building a new PC now? To be honest the best setup to not miss out on most good games is a PS3/PC combination because most of the PS3 exclusives don't make it to PC. Is it not a gaming PC? Do most of your friends own a 360?

Well I did buy a ps3 for some of the exclusives, but most of them ended up dissapointing me. That was my fault for not trying them out first before making my final decision. The only exclusive I play now is Warhawk. MGS4 was great while it lasted, but I can't stand MGO and I've finished the campaign way too much now. My new PC won't be able to handle any newer games. As much as I enjoyed PC gaming, I got somewhat tired of it. Another reason I decided to switch to consoles is because it's really great to have one when friends are over. One issue I have with the ps3 is it seems that many of it's exclusives don't have splitscreen.

And of course, Perfect Dark coming to XBLA is another reason I'm switching over - it's easily one of my favorite shooters.

I always search cheapassgamer for deals on Live subscriptions and MS points. You can get deals IF you look.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

How would you know? Nice troll post - and of course, you don't have your systems on your profile.

Please, exit the room, stage left.

@ OP - you can actually buy an Arcade, the 20gb for about $25-$30 and upgrade later to a bigger HD. You can do that gradually. Or just buy a Premium and get the games separately. You can do it for $299 and still have loot to buy games.

It's good if you can keep your PS3, but you know your gaming needs better than anyone.

I am sure you could look through the boxes of Elites to find the newest one possible. The rumor is that most of the Elites being sold with Halo 3/Fable 2 are older-ish models. Now remember: Even in the 'worst' case scenario, your getting a 360 that fixed the RRoD problem in the Falcon model, which the Elites are rumored to have.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

1)I don't know the exact numbers, but there is a way to tell which model you will be getting when you buy the 360. Im sure someone can post that for you

2)As for having gold, it's a must if you want to play online games, use netflix, etc. I would look on Buy.com or amazon when they have deals on year subscriptions. Usually $10-$20 off. The service is well worth it. Anyone who actually uses it will tell you that.

3)Shooting is the Triggers just like on the PS3 controller.

The PS3 controller doesn't have triggers.

I heard that all of the Resident Evil Elite bundles are the newer models. Maybe look for that one?

Otherwise hell yea I would ask the clerk for a newer model. If it was me I would just sit there in bestbuy opening them all up til I found the one I wanted :)

"The PS3 controller doesn't have triggers"

Really. Last time I checked (like every time I use it) it had bumpers, and then right behind it are triggers
