THere have been some "huh?"-moments for me at E3 from Sony. First was the appearance of Fat Princess in the PSP-reel. Glad to see it also heading to the PSP though. Mod Nation Racers seems awesome too, and imho could do for the racing genre what LBP does for the platforming genre on the PS3 (be fun endlessly).

In the end, when I thought I had seen all the new things that were shown, I was asked to write something about another game for the PSP. It wasn't that much but I didn't know anything about the game. So I went to watch the trailer, and I must say: this was the sleeper "surprise" of E3 for me. There are always things you hope for and get, others that get leaked and others that are very cool but this one was just so unexpected that it blew me away.

I don't even have a PSP, but I absolutely love the concept of this: Invizimals. I'll just let the trailer do the talking. I think it's awesome :D It's like pokémon meets Ghostbusters meets where is waldo / wally.

For me it was Milo, that was completely unexpected. Halo: Reach made by Bungie was another unexpected announcement given so many leaks/releases to the contrary. Left 4 Dead 2 was unexpected because the game was only released last year. The Nintendo heart monitor was unexpected. Sony GT5 PSP for me was unexpected. Metal Gear Solid Raiden wasn't a surprise but it was unexpected. Yep, there were a lot of unexpected happenings.

The big surprises for me came from Sony and Nintendo.

FFXIV and 2 new Mario games being announced totally surprised me.

Last year FF13 was the shocker

I don't think this is a thread to say what we thought was the biggest surprise at E3, we all have to comply and agree with the OP.

@ seece: nah, not exactly ^^ I just posted this in the sony thing because it was a sony "discovery" that struck me :)

I didn't get the same "what the hell.... awesome" vibe from any of the many sequels that were shown / announced. This seems something radically new and fun.

Milo was cool, but I'll keep my reservations until I can see it in unscripted / rehearsed form. Halo 4784 and uncharted video clip fourteen million didn't do the same as that Invizimals thing :)

FF14 surprised me more than anything else. Personally I'm not interested in it but I did not see it coming.

NSMB Wii. It was the subject of fanboy wishing, yes, but I never expected Nintendo to give in and do it. Four-player co-op is a brilliant idea and will make me buy it.
