Forums - Gaming - Will Wii games make their way to the PS3 and 360 now?

I just got to thinking while I was watching a Wii punch-out video on youtube. Will the same Wii game developers start considering to make future sequels or new titles on the PS3 and 360 as well? Now that all three consoles support some form of motion controls.

Better question! Is it possible that we could see Wii games ported to both of them ?!

Of corse not. The PS360 don't have motion control now.

"Will Wii games make their way to the Ps3 and 360 when their respective motion sensor comes out?"

It depends how well the peripherals sell, and also whether they live up to their promise

you will not see punch out on PS3 and 360 unless nintendo sells the IP, but 3rd parties will port.

3rd Parties, in the future... yes.

most definitely..all the companies that publicly announce there distaste for Wii will definitely move to PS360..example CAPCOM and RE6

I see no incentive for them to port the games. First off, the wand will not take off at nearly the rate that the wiimote did. The wiimote came with the system and was the dedicated controller. For PS3, the wand is a peripheral that needs it + eyetoy. This already makes it more restrictive. Second, the ps3 and MS motion sensing is completely different. You cannot have the same types of game controls with both models. So, what does this mean?

This means the small userbase of each HD system cannot be lumped together. It will make no sense to port because the actual number of prospective buyers will be far smaller than the install base. lastly, neither company will have a killer app or the ability to innovate one to move the wands. Even if something like KZ2 for Sony has it bundled, it will be far far smaller than the impact WSR and M+ has.

Next gen who knows, but for this gen its not going to do anything.

It just depends on how important Sony and MS try to make them. I mean Eyetoy and Live Vision camera really never took off. No 3rd parties really went deep with them or whatnot. Yet you see something like MotionPlus come out on the Wii and EA and Ubisoft are both releasing games that are bundled with them. That just shows the complete difference in importance that devs are showing right now.

It's quite possible that they could take them very seriously in the future but only if MS and Sony do the same. Possibly for their next systems even making them the standard with the other controllers (like Ninty) being the optional ones. If that happens then yes developers support would be large.

Right now from MS and Sony we've only seen prototypes and what they want to have happen but nothing concrete or solid. Nor do we see a complete backing of the projects. I say we wait til 2010 to put further judgment on this which would in turn put the judgment on whether or not they will put the Wii games on PS360 later on as well.

Well they only announced them at E3! So it mustn't be that important {sarcasm . You make it sound like these were announced for the next generation of consoles. Heck, even the Wii mote had an eventual update several years after its released . Nothings going to be perfect from the start.
