Forums - Sony - PSP Go to cost £230 in UK?

from CVG

The PSP Go will cost a whooping £229.99 in UK if prices on UK retail sites Game and GameStation are accurate.

Both retailers (here and here) are now taking pre-orders on Sony's new handheld for that price - which is blood pricey when compared to the $249.99 US price tag.

Under the current conversion rate, £230 is almost $380. Which means snagging a PSP Go from the US would cost you £153. Plus shipping if need be. Hmm...

Fortunately, Sony has told us that "UK pricing is still TBC". Let's hope the official price is somewhere nearer the £180 mark.

That is more than an Xbox 360 Elite, I really hope this is innacurate

Equals 262 Euros... a little more pricey than the European price.

I think the bigger comparison is how it equates to $380!

yea me to... but it seems sony is keeping the lower priced PSP on the market that can play all games download or UMD so if you want a good priced PSP get the 3000.

Looks like Sony is making a pretty big profit on this as it add really nuthin new, takes out the UMD slot, 50% smaller etc. Id say Sony is only aiming for money on this which is a smart move for them. As long as they keep both on the market it doesnt matter to me as i have a lot of games and i want them on UMD

They said they am retailing it at the same price as a launch PSP. Meaning in UK 180 GBP.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

$380?

Pound not dead!

waaaay too much.

PSP Go is going to crash and burn at this price, costs more than a 360 and Wii. That is simply crazy to say the very least and the price needs to come down to £180 at most.

Well they save money on no UMD drive, but that 16GB of memory probably costs them quite a bit. The difference between an iPod Touch 16GB and 32 GB is $100

I agree £180 is a reasonable price, but with currency fluctuations, they are waiting until closer to launch to announce the price. Just for comparison:

DS: £100
PSP 3000: £130
Xbox Arcade: £130
DSi: £150
Xbox Pro: £170
Wii: £180
Xbox Elite: £230
PS3: £300

So by that, £180 may still be a little high, a £160 price point, or even £150, would be much better, but £230 is definitely out of the question, and I hope this is just GAME getting things wrong. Play have it at £250 though...

i was thinking of getting this come release, at that price i wont be

Now playing: Gta4(ps3)I live in hope that one day cross game voice chat will come to the ps3
