ironman, that is not what "advanced" means.

I'm an avid 360 gamer. I'm playing Ninja Gaiden II right now. Console bias isn't entering into this.

Natal is not more advanced than the Wiimote. It's just different. It might do more in some aspects and less in others, but that doesn't make it more or less advanced, it just means it takes a different approach to motion sensing technology.

So what is your definition of "more advanced"? It isnt more advanced hardware. It isnt more advanced software.  It isnt a piece of hardware where the some of the parts adds up to a complex device.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

THe problem here is that you're thinking in terms of linear progression, which is absolutely fine, but you can't think in terms of linear progression across two different methodologies.

WM+ is more advanced than the Wiimote.

Natal is more advanced than the Eyetoy (assuming the Eyetoy doesn't use an object to perceive depth and so forth).

The two lines of advancement are not directly comparable. It would be like saying that the Wright brother's first airplane is more advanced than a hydrogen cell car, because it can fly and the car can't.

very well could be, i think if the next fallout uses this, that game would be interesting to play.

Yes, NATAL is more advanced that the Wiimote. it has 3D perception, full body motion tracking, voice recognition, and software that utilizes all these features. The Wiimote has a rudimentary "motion tracking" system. For your viewing pleasure, I have added the Definition of "Advanced"

Definition: Advanced
Advanced

Adjective

1. Farther along in physical or mental development; "the child's skeletal age was classified as `advanced'"; "children in the advanced classes in elementary school read far above grade average".
2. Comparatively late in a course of development; "the illness had reached an advanced stage"; "an advanced state of exhaustion".
3. Ahead of the times; "the advanced teaching methods"; "had advanced views on the subject"; "a forward-looking corporation"; "is British industry innovative enough?".
4. At a higher level in training or knowledge or skill; "an advanced degree"; "an advanced text in physics"; "special seminars for small groups of advanced students at the University".
5. Ahead in development; complex or intricate; "advanced technology"; "a sophisticated electronic control system".
6. Far along in time; "a man of advanced age"; "advanced in years"; "a ripe old age"; "the ripe age of 90".
7. (of societies) highly developed especially in technology or industry; "advanced societies"; "an advanced country technologically".
8. Situated ahead or going before; "an advance party"; "at that time the most advanced outpost was still east of the Rockies".

That isn't an argument. You are trying to apply linear progression logic to non-parallel methods of technological advancement. That doesn't work. The ability to do different things doesn't make it more advanced.

And for the record, the Wiimote can do depth perception, too - that's what the IR sensor is for.

let's see:

WM+ has very fast response to fast movement, probably Natal too

Natal has leg motion control, maybe balance board, but Natal is more accurate and you can jump

WM+ has buttons, but Natal has face /voice recognition

WM+ has pointer

basically, i consider WM+ a better "thing" to use while playing games than Natal project

if you think of it, Natal also loses the point of gaming just a bit, i mean things you can do without a controller you can do without Xbox360 and Natal
i mean it's too close to real activities, you can do skate and kick a ball, without Natal project!
but Wii Sports activities shown were much more smart and convenient, tennis without tennis field and so on

but you cannot play Mario Kart or Red Steel 2 or No More Heroes without Wii Motion Plus

actually i was like "OMG AMAZING" at the begin, but if you think of it, Wii Motion Plus is a bit cooler (Red Steel 2 comes to mind), and since it comes out earlier and has already a hell of support it will make people not too excited at all about Natal

(especially if you think Ubisoft has one for Wii as well)

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Where is the ruble feedback in NATAL?

Ars they gonna do the same excuse that ruble is so last gent like sony did with Sixaxis?

You fail to see the technological advancement here. Ubisoft's exercise game is just an eyetoy with better implimetation (meaning 2D no Z plane). One can only look at technology in a linear way. Technology advances, it does so in many directions, but they are all forward leaning. Wii has motion control (Wiimote, Ubisofts "eye"), so does Sony(Eyetoy), and now MS(NATAL). They are all motion control, the methods they went about it is different. you need a remote/balance board/wheel for the Wii to have motion control. you need a remote with a "glowing orb" on top to tell the Eyetoy where it's Z is. Natal, well, you don't need any of that. They stripped away the need for that technology, thus rendering the NATAL project more advanced. Anything that strips away the need for older technology is advanced. Look at the freight train industry, the used fire to create steam which pushed pistons, which made the train move. Then, somebody invented the Diesel engine, which uses fire, and pistons, and makes the train move. i ask you, which one is more advanced?

I see both

A technological advancement

Steps backwards in user interface

how is it a step back in user interface?
