Persona is hardly their biggest game. It's a spinoff... their last truly big entry was SMT: Nocturne (SMT III)

What don't you understand?
It's just that simple.

Where did they exactly say that? I've seen some people mention it also, but I've never even read about it (and I assure you that as an Atlus fanboy, I read every single news I can get about Atlus). The only news I read was that they had acquired a license to become an official publisher (or developer, don't remember exactly which) for the 360. |
Was it TRINE? They are publishing it for 360?

I'd buy that if their names weren't PS3 and Xbox 360... I mean even if the letters were in japanese... 3 and 360.... Well no... I still wouldn't because you'd be risking your job to say such a thing. Besides how would THAT meeting go. "Hey Atlus USA guy. Look Persona 5. Bye! What? A Non disclosure form why would you sign that?! What the system... oh i'm suddenly going to talk in japanese now so you won't understand! Just cause! " Or is it your theory Atlus Japan just put Atlus USA in a room, said a bunch of stuff in Japanese with no translator... showed a trailer of what they're working on and walked out. Cause... that's poissibly even more stupid. |
No no no the way it happened was that Atlus USA invited Atlus Japan to a baseball game during the World Baseball Classic, the game where Japan won it, of course. They were all having some drinks and then Atlus Japan was making some racial slurs because he got really, really drunk. Atlus USA didn't know what to do because it didn't know Japanese so well but Atlus Japan started throwing beer bottles at everybody so they left to go play some Mario Kart Wii back at Atlus USA HQ (obviously the only sensible thing to do at this point). What happened then was that Atlus Japan was like going "perusona!!!" because Atlus Japan thought he could actually summon Personas like in the game and because Atlus Japan was really drunk not fake drunk like Yukiko so Atlus USA started listening, and then it went to play some Street Fighter 2 HD Remix on the 360 (because it has better online and because back then Street Fighter IV wasn't out). Of course Atlus USA wanted to play too and picked Ken but then Atlus Japan actually just left on Atlus USA because it Atlus Japan doesn't respect the skill of the US Street Fighter 2 community. Atlus Japan then went on to play HD Remix on the PS3 [on Classic, most assuredly], and continued trying to summon Personas while screaming and pointing at the PS3. It managed to get to Akuma but then lost because Akuma is soft-banned in Japan so Atlus Japan was so drunk he though a soft-ban meant you could only win by losing all your health. Of course Atlus USA wanted to play some Mario Kart Wii because that was why they actually went over to Atlus USA HQ but when Atlus USA gave Atlus Japan a Wii Wheel Atlus Japan got indignant because he is a Wii Classic Control player himself and threw it right at his head of Atlus USA and then picked up the Wii and slammed it down to the ground because he felt Mario Kart Wii with a Wii Wheel was too disgraceful of a thought [i think a Wii wheel with Mario Kart is fine though]. So then Atlus USA got very confused and really had no idea what console Persona 5 was announced for but assumed it wasn't the Wii because Atlus Japan broke it.
Afterward to try and summon Personas Atlus USA strummed a mad beat on his air guitar, but it wasn't as mad a beat as Atlus Japan's so he wasn't successful.
...
Not that I believe a word of that blog, though.

Eh, I'm still betting on SMT:IV being released before Persona 5. Also, people have to read the actual website. It seems like the Atlus employee was only speculating...
"probably won't be on the PlayStation 2," and will likely be making the jump to the PlayStation 3 and/or Xbox 360.
Notice how the PS360 part isn't even quoted. I bet the Atlus guy didn't even say that. This website is spinning the story for hits.

Here's the thing. Atlus isn't retarded. This would be the worst possible way to announce a game ever... Not to mention this is Atlus US who has little to even do with Atlus JPN. I mean... who announces their biggest game by casually mentioning it to some random blog. And also for some reason doesn't know what platform it's on. It'd be like Rockstar saying. "We're working on GTA5. Yeah... we aren't really sure what system it's on. Maybe 360. Maybe PS3... maybe both... who knows!" How wouldn't you know? |
From the Atlus Forums:
"Yeah, the author of this story got wayyyyy carried away. All we said (echoing something that Japanese staffers of our parent company have also said) is that it's unlikely another Persona game, if/when it's made, will be on PS2. No one announced any actual games here."
Famitus reported Atlus were developing for the 360, so I'm sure it'll come to 360. I want SMT IV first.

I can say, with a fair degree of confidence, that the game they are working on the 360/PS3 right now is that MMO game.

Neo Steam?

There is no MMO game. If you're talking about what Atlus online is doing, they only release Free-2-Play MMOs for PC (that they don't even develop)
