Forums - Microsoft - The Metal Gear announcements are getting a bit obnoxious now.

Ok, I was surprised on Monday to find out that Rising was coming out on 360.  Didn't figure it would be exclusive or anything, and frankly didn't care either way.  I'm not a Metal Gear fan at all.  In all my years of gaming, I have never really gotten into that series.  But I thought to myself, "Cool, at least 360 owners now have an option for that series if they are into that sort of thing."  But now after Kojima has appeared at the MS conference, the PS conference, and at both of the Konami conferences and announced like 50 new Metal Gear games that are coming out over the next year on various platforms, I'm getting really sick of it.  I'm losing track of what they even all are, and I really hope he's all done making big MG announcements for the week.  It's getting old.

Again, don't mistake this for bitterness.  I don't care about the series all, and even if I did, the 360 finally got some love this year from Kojima so woo hoo I guess.  But here's my question for MG fans:  are you guys really going to play all these and/or are there ones you care about and ones you don't?  I just don't get it.

I actually agree with this. I've said it before though, I don't care about any MGS and its "stealth", but I know for a lot of gamers the MGS used to only have pure quality games. Now....

The only thing  I'm interested in about MGS: Rising is the fact that they are ditching their fake stealth for what they called "lightning combat action". To me, that sounds very similar to NG2's impossibly fast gameplay =)

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

He announced 3 "games" at E3, regarding Metal Gear.

One of them is a re-release... ish, on an Arcade.

One is a spin-off.

One is a true prequel.

I see nothing wrong with what he did.

I'm not saying he did anything wrong--just saying I'm sick of hearing about it.

I haven't been able to get it up for a Metal Gear game since the original Solid. #2 killed it for me, 3 almost suckered me back in, and then I skipped 4 altogether.

Actually it's still a stealth action game the reason they changed it to"Lightning combat" was to accompany raiden's character.
