Forums - Nintendo - A second question for Metroid lovers

Alright, in an earlier thread I was asking about the style of gameplay found in the Metroid Prime Trilogy, and by the end, I was convinced that I would enjoy those games.

After the Nintendo E3 conference this year, I decided to start the Metroid series from the beginning.

I'm going to go buy a Wii points card so that I can buy Metroid and Super Metroid on the VC, and I'm going to buy the MP Trilogy in August, and the Team Ninja game when it releases next year.

This is where my question comes; What are Metroid Zero Mission, Metroid Fusion, and Metroid GB, and where do they fit into the series/timeline? I'm not really a fan of remakes or spinoffs except in certain cases, but if any of these games are part of the actual series, I'll pick them up.

Thanks.

Zero Mission is a remake of the first, Fusion is the direct sequel to Super Metroid and the GB game is Metroid 2, ie the sequel to the first that was released on NES

This is the timelime:
Metroid/Metroid Zero Mission
Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime 2
Metroid Prime 3
Metroid 2: The Retun of Samus(the one on GB)
Super Metroid(aka Metroid 3)
Metroid Fusion(aka Metroid 4)

Metroid for the GB is a sequel to the first...
Zero Mission is a remake of the first, I think.

Here's the Timeline:

But... I think there may be small spoilers in the discription...

ya, they've got it down for you... but i'd definitely recommend Fusion, it was my fav :P

Alright, thanks everyone. Looks like I'll have to track down Fusion and Metroid II.

I also recommend that you don't waste money on Metroid on Virtual Console cause it's an unlockable on Zero Mission(which is also far superior)

ya dont VC Metroid its on Zero Mission and Prime

Well, looks like I'll be buying Zero Mission as well. This is costing me more than I originally thought

Well it is a series.

So may as well eventually get Fusion,Metroid II(can find it in used game shops or online) Super Metroid.

Here's my plan:

1) Find/Buy/Play Zero Mission

2) Download/Play Super Metroid

3) Buy/Play Metroid Prime: Trilogy

4) Find/Buy/Play Metroid II

5) Find/Buy/Play Fusion

It's out of chronological order, but I can deal with that.
