I won't buy it either way, but.....

I think you must've missed the news that it's coming to PC! So it never was exclusive.

Im taking this news as horse-shit atm, but...

It IS exclusive, "Console" Exclusive.

Although it may not be necessary to have a Gold account while playing an MMO on live...still, Many people WILL be subscribers to XBOX Live Gold. Whether you need it for FFXI or not, if you play ANY OTHER multiplayer game you ARE paying that fee, so really it doesn't even matter if it is required for FFXI(or FFXIV in the future).

Hard Drives also are not mandatory with the most popular 360 model. An MMO will assuredly require an install of some sort (FFXI has a 9.5gb install for 360). Who knows what FFXIV will demand. That means any 360 owner lacking a harddrive will need to go purchase one. thats 70 bucks plus, not including the fact u have to pay for the game(60bones), pay for Gold Live if you had any other MP games(50 a year, I highly doubt all who want FFXIV are going to cancel their GOld memb. JUST for it), and then the monthly fee.

All of this equals a gamer paying more charges if they want to play FFXIV, when they could be playing it for much less.

This could be the strongest reason for FFXIV being PS3/PC exclusive...

This woukld almost be a compelling case on its own. Unfortunately SE already released a MMO for the game despite that so none of it really matters.

But the 360 version of FFXI was at the very end of the games life span, when they started starving for subscribers. It also did really terribly from what I have gathered. I believe Square only ported it because Sony discontinued the only model of PS2's that could play it(the fat). This meant that all new buyers for PS2 would come to a halt.

Maybe this is the remnants of a lessoned learned by Square.........finally.

Okay...this is were things diverge...I THOUGHT the topic was one of FF XI and other MMO cost models for XBL, not some general rant about having to pay for XBL Gold membership?  I, and MILLIONS of other players have no problem paying the $40 bucks a year for it, so this is a complete apple and oranges discussion.

@heruamon no point arguing with a fanboy I've long learned to ignore forevercloud posts =P

@heruamon

The thread is about FF XIV's exclusivity. I layed out the example of XI and reasonable hinderances of XIV being on 360. THIS is the point of the entire argument at hand.

@Grahamhsu

lol, what? Maybe instead of claiming everyone to be a fanboy, why not try coming up with a reasonable argument? Because right now it is looking like you have no refute to my claim. The only thing you base your comment on is that I am a PS3 fan. WOW, is that a crime? Does that make my argument any less valid? NO. Get over yourself....

Thanks, I got it from "Maybe this is the remnants of a lessoned learned by Square.........finally."  It would probably be funnier if you had put that in there.

It still is a PS3 exclusive unless it comes out for Xbox 360 down the road. I have a hard tiem not seeign this happen especially with how much money goes into makign an MMO and keeping it running and updated all the time.

 How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

No I'm not going to respond actually, I've spent a good year ignoring your posts, once in a while I'll read one most of the time you come off not as a fan but as a fanboy. This is my view and my opinion of you, and clearly I don't hold you in high favors I'm guessing at this point the same holds true of your opinion of me but luckily I'm wearing this shirt. Hey if you buy one too than we can enter harmony again of me ignoring you and you not knowing I exist.

My point is that your point about XBL fees being added onto the monthly fee for FF MMO subscription are completely false!  I'm not sure what's there to debate...you are wrong on this point, and your assumption were wrong, and you have been mis-informed.  So, if that's the understanding of this point, then we can agree completely.
