Forums - Sony - Is the GT5 E3 Trailer CGI?

Can someone just please clear this up for me please? I keep hearing both sides saying yes, and no, and I can't find an official (IGN, Gamespot, Sony) response on this.

Take a guess.

Sorry to disappoint you but everything in that trailer was CGI.

(I'd love to see a quote or link of someone claiming or believing it was in-game - or that this would be possible in-game -  just to gloat a lil bit ^^)

If this was in-game, the PS3 is better graphically than the 360, and the best graphically ever in a big way, but I'm 100% sure it's CGI. Its just too good.

I'm currently not at a computer that can do HD video, but from the SD one I saw, I'd say that racing scenes were in-game. Anyone who has play Prologue should agree.

We all expect great things from a GT game, and with recent PS3 exclusives being put at the top of the list for graphically impressive games, this should be no surprise.

Gran Turismo games have always pushed the bar higher, and GT5 is no different.

Let me put it like that.

If that's ingame we can stop debating. Sony wins.

(the fact that it might be is just soo damn exciting. But i still think it's cgi.)

Check out my game about moles ^

I don't think the parts with people are in-game though but the racing segments don't look much different than the replay mode of GT5P. I'm sure some aspects are using the engine but none of it is actual game play.

I thought the part with the planes and stuff were CGI, and the city part as well. Do you think that all the parts with cars only were in game engine (especially the part with damage)?

I'm pretty sure it's NOT CGI, but i don't think it's all in-game as well. It's probably all realtime(within the game-engine) with some parts in-game.

^ What bbsin said. It's all either CGI or post race replay mode. No actual gameplay footage. The best thing about the vid was confirming damage. It is slightly disappointing that there was no gameplay, makes one wonder about how much longer racers have to wait.

I think it might be done with ingame assets, but heavily super sampled (AA)
