Do you guys remeber the rumour of Final Fantasy XI-2 a few years ago? SE made a press release denying that, but they said they were working on a new MMO. Here's exactly what they said:

Square Enix will develop a sequel to Final Fantasy XI...for three platforms: Sony Computer Entertainment's next-generation PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360, and the Windows Vista PC operating system

perhaps the reason S-E went PS3 exclusive is because they can run their own servers, while on microsofts side there to restrictive and thus impractical for them, just a thought of course.
