The joy at seeing Yoshi again in NSMBW was massive. Then he was in Galaxy 2. I am a very happy nerd now. (Yoshi made dinosaurs awesome before Jurrassic Park, remember that people.)

It looks fun, but for some reason it looks slow. That's how I felt about Little Big Planet as well. 2D platformers don't seem to have the speed that they used to because devs. are so focused on fitting the most stuff on the screen at one time.

I don't think they are going off the screen as at the start of the video you can just see the edges of the monitor, but then they zoom in about 2x so you are only seeing the middle of the screen.

I am more excited about this game than the new Galaxy Mario (though it does look good too). Any work on online play?

I loved NSMB(mainly because it's the first 2D Mario game I was able to beat. For some reason I cannot beat the older games), and I hope that NSMBWii is as good as the "original." However, I do believe that Nintendo could amp up the graphics a bit. I mean, with games like Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: OM coming out, you think they could at least make it look as good as Subspace Emissary.

From IGN's blog on Miyamoto's rountable: "Unfortunately, no online mode in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, by the way. Miyamoto just confirmed. Wii is already being overpowered by what's happening on screen in New Super Mario Bros Wii. So no power left for online."
